Obscure air system trivia time :)

OK... my goal is to extend a gas-thru grip that connects to a Mag VA. I need to drop it about 1" so I started thinking.

The tribal used to come with a toolkit that has an ASA pass-thru type tool thats only purpose was to provide a gauge port to measure the HP pressure. It was a female ASA/male ASA with a port for the gauge.

Tribal documentation called it a down regulator adjustment tool but that's not it's common name obviously.

What do you call these and who sells them?

and while I'm asking strange questions...

I saw a timmy or impulse last weekend that had this strange drop-"back" type drop on it. It was the total opposite of an angled drop forward.

It put the bottem back down and angled up to rest on your shoulder.... who makes that?

They make the drop you speak of. I believe its called the power angle, or something.

jam enterprises makes the endo drop, probabally the one you saw...

fireball mountain manufactures one as well, but theirs is just a wedge of aluminum.

it was much more drastic than that... this thing was a 2" drop only backwards with a 45 degree angle to point the tank up.

the endo is closer but not the one I saw... this one was two flat pieces of sheet aluminum with a block at the top and bottom. I think it was adjustable for angles.

It looked very nice.

I should have asked what it was but I was in a hurry.

On the up side... I met a fellow AOer... thelarge i think... held my first Logic frame and it rocked. Can't wait till mine finally arrives. It's been on order for a month now.

LAPCO's Dual Adapter should work just fine.

That's it!!! But I need a round one... I just need it to look like part of the VA or forgrip. I guess I could turn it down on a lathe....

That's weird my reply is before your post :)

If you don't want a gauge on it you could look into the Spyder ones, if I remember correctly my brother had one on his Spyder that was just a strait tube. However I don't know if it can handle pressure, as I think it was just to hide a hose or something. But it looked thick and all :)
