Spplat 3 back to CPX!

"Challenge Park Extreme has been chosen as the site for SPPLAT Attack III which will be held over Labor Day weekend (September 5th) this year. The park is located in Joliet, Illiois and is the same venue that the first SPPLAT Attack was held. It's a really neat location.

We are told that there will be a website up soon where you can pre-register. The URL address will be http://www.celebritypaintball.com

Considering how upset JJ and everyone else was about how CPX ran it, I would not question for a moment that those problems have been resolved. And where did you hear $150 cases?!?! They were not $150 the first time. I think they were around $65-70, I remember they had two levels of paint.

Hmmm, hate to sound like a pessimist - but the stories from the last debacle were pretty bad - it would be nice if JJ poked his head in and stated what was being done to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again. The 1500psi air fill stories were heart wrenching...

You know what though, even though the air fills sucked, I still had the time of my life. Just being there with friends made it amazing for me, the paintball was incidental. :p

But every AO meet is like that for me.

I wouldn't miss one of these for the world.

I don't know where Warped got the info but we are in negotiations with CPX. The BIG difference is that this year I am the point man for the whole event. We are LEASING the PROPERTY from CPX so that means TK is calling all the shots. We intend to have multiple paint vendors and a tournament air fill system brought in for the event.

Now I need you all to do me favor and not spread this around until we get things finalized. We have to have the website up and running before we announce anything.

BTW, I learned somethings from the last one. A 114/4500 Maxflo tank is a smart setup in theory (I never did have to leave the filed due to lack of air), but I could have gotten away with a 68/4500. Also, try to find a harness that's comfortable to wear and holds enough paint to last a while. Finally, when Jon tells me to guard the medic, I should instantly duck. :D

Well it is official, my wife and baby will be vacating the house for that weekend. This means another BBQ with without worry until after she arrives home. i wonder what the theme will be, also the closest airport is the one in bloomington righty?

wow, i just spoke to someone about shipping my paintball stuff, and apparently she wouldnt understand that it shoots a "ball" or "capsule" full of paint, but that it shoots paint.. like a paint sprayer... but after like 10 minutes, she finally found it under Recreational paintguns. So if you plan to fly, and they ask what those gun shaped things in your baggage are, dont pull a matrix, just tell them its a "recreational paintgun." ;) flying with paintball gear even though you called about it, is just something you know will cause a problem.

15 minute drive to the field for me
As for airports, Midway is the closest and Ohare right behind.Bloomington is 2 hours away unless you are going 97 in a 65.:D
