I was listening to their Master of puppets CD and thought i should start a thread for their fans here. So post anything that you like about metallica because they kick A$$.
My favorite CD of theirs is either Master Of Puppets or Kill Em All.

There was a time that I could identify with the anger and pain in their music. The lyrics expressed exactly what I was feeling, the music seethed with the same frustration and hatred I held towards the rest of the world within my crowded and darkened mind. Now, I still enjoy an occasional Hit the Lights, or Master of Puppets, but for the most part, I've sorted my issues and now listen to Black Sabbath.

*EDIT- also, I thought it would sound kinda funny... the whole thing about sorting out issues, and listening to black sabbath instead... like its any less heavy...

Truth be told, I like most rock bands from 1960's-1980's and listen to metallica frequently*

Don't get me wrong those are great albums too, but my favorite is AJFA.
Not quite my favorite band anymore though. Can't really say that anymore after the second load album. And whats with this new guy they got now. New metallica just doesn't do it for me anymore.

yeah the new stuff isnt that good. their best albums were Black album, and justice for all... ride the lightning, master of puppets and kill em all. I would still see them in concert though. I'm scared i would get raped though. JK Are they very good in concert? I would think so. what are your favorites? My favorites are:

I loved metallica until i heard Load, and then the love affair kind of just died.

Now, it's mostly hard core...

They should've just changed their name to Alternica after the black albumn... it wasn't metal after that, it was just... ... crap... complete and total crap.

yeah i still listen to the S&M album somtimes but mostly their old stuff. the new stuff isnt as good but i still listen to it except for St. Anger. that album was horrible. but what can you do?

...And Justice for All owns all!! then give me some ride the lightning (or metal up your a.s for you hard core fans). its really great how you can hear the matuation of the band from kill em all to Justice. so many bands these days have very little change in their sound from album to album. but metallica certainly got better and better. the black album is not bad, but to me that marks the beginning of the end. the demise of the band started with that album, we just didnt know it at that time. some people argue the the band died with cliff, and i cant argue that it forever changed the band i still think Justice is pure greatness. perhaps fueled with extra motivation to mourn cliff, or just to show to the fans that the band can and will move on.
