View Full Version : Power Feed Plug Adjustment & new vs old

Here are some pics of the new plug vs the old style plug the differance should be quite clear.

Ok gete is how the adjustment shoud look on a new Power Feed Plug.

Now you are saying Hey I can't see that in my power feed body ! So how do you test you adjustment ??

You get a long wooden Spoon or Stick squeegie some paintballs.

Now take out your barrle and remove you hopper and elbow.

Place the squeege down the breach and place the end under the power feed entrance. place a few balls 3 or 4 in the feed tube, now press down on them with your finger and then allow the squeege/spoon to drop and allow the ball to pass into the main body. You are feeling for a pause or a hang up on the lower lip. If you do not have the proper over hang on the plug you will have some small feed problems. So adjuster you set screws in or out as needed.

Or you can just get a small mechnics mirror on a stick and cheat :)

Yeah I am with him on that. Is AGD still giving them to people that own mags?

All you have to do is call the AGD front office on Tuesday. I ma sure they will be more than happy to help you out. Remember to give them your Valve serial number.

How much does the plug cost or is it a free upgrade?

Conparing my powerfeed plug to those that ROBAGD posted pics.
where Rob has the parabolic plug between those points(the actual curve itself) I have a square piece of plastic which makes a square corner for the paintball to drop into the barrel.
hope that makes sense.
would that also decrease feeding? is it as good as the parobolic plug?

In Atlantic City Tom Kaye gave me a parabolic plug and told me to check this sight out if I had any questions as to how to adjust it... I installed the plug and it is not quite long enough to look like the pic above. When I run my pinkie nail down the parablolic plug face I can still feel a bit of the body where a ball could theoretically catch.

What should I do now? DREMEL!!!!!?????

I think I have a parabolic pf plug but I have a SP splashed plug and its got the flat spot. What exactly happens if I use my flat spot SP pf plug over my parabolic one?

You might end up with balls that pause on the way in.. fix , get a intellifeed system.. or what have you. I have the old school plugs too , but i have yet to encounter this problem.

AGD sent me a parabolic plug (for free!!!) when I regestered my gun online. I haven't used it all that much but, in the past I did have some feeding problems. Those problems haven't returned (yet?).

I'm sorry, I must be dumb or something, but that second picture in the first post doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before. It looks sort of like an elbow, but that can't be right. I don't understand what I'm looking at or what the spot marked on the figure is or how it helps me to understand how to adjust one these plugs correctly.

Maybe a diagram would be more help - or a verbal description of a proper fit. Maybe if you even just described what that picture is so I can understand it.

I added one of these things to my Mag a few weeks back and I've been having feed trouble ever since. Also, since the two screws are independent, there is more than a simple depth adjustment, you can sort of "rock" the thing up or down by adjusting one screw at a time. Not sure what or how that should work. Also, since there are only two screws, the thing seems to rock from side to side. Not sure if that hurts anything.

So, I was hoping to get the low-down on how these things are supposed to be adjusted, but I'm not getting it from what was posted here. Might be because I'm slow or old or something, but I'm hoping someone will clear it up for me.

Thanks in advance,

Fatman

The second picture in Rob's post is of a 90 degree Warp Feed adapter. The picture basically shows that when the plug is in the position so that the balls can flow through, there should be a small bit of the plug overhanging the feed tube or in the case of the picture, the edge of the plastic. Here's a better pic of the unit in the second pic.

*Note: The PF adapter in my pic has the old PF plug in it. You want the PF plug with the hole in the handle and the two set screws in the handle.*

Adjustment of the PF plug is fairly simple but you need to make sure it's even and adjusted properly. Proper adjustment is like what's shown in the second pic of Rob's post. It's not THAT precise of a piece that the side to side movement doesn't make any difference.

Wow, that cleared up a lot! I understand now. And you say don't worry about the side-to-side stuff.

Cool. Thanks!

Yes. Just compare it with the two in the pic and then you can make sure you have the new one.

At what rate of fire does the old plug start posing a significant problem? And If I am surpassing that rate of fire but have a Lvl 10 do I really need to worry at all?

EVERYONE WITH A SPYDER

GET ONE OF THE AGD PARABOLIC POWERFEED PLUGS

it will fit the spyder powerfeed port, and increases ball feed rate by ALOT

it kicks @$$ compared to that crappy slanded one that comes stock

I have been having problems with my old powerfeed plug, not with feeding, however. My problem is the plug is incredibly stiff and hard to turn or remove. Is this common and how do I fix?

p-3. you can lightly oil the O-ring on that bad boy and it should loosen up.

where do i register my gun anyone?

thanks litestab, but i have tried this. I thought that would work and was surprised when it didn't. I think I'm gonna go after one of the new plugs anyway. Thanks for the help.

Hmm, a few questions I guess:

So they indeed work on Spyders? They sure look like it.

How much would they cost for me? Since I own a Spyder.. not a mag

How would I adjust them on a spyder? Just sand it down? I'm not totally understanding this. The plug covers up any part of the body that the balls could potentially get snagged on? When I examined my gun, only about 1/2 a millimeter of my body was "shelving" out. Is this cause for me to get this? But, my p/f plug is completely flat, so I guess the parabolic design would help anyway, eh?

Also, someone asked earlier if they came in aluminum or something metal, do they?

You dont need to sand anything.

You need this.

$7.50

You also have to drill a hole in the warp mount.

I have an old plug, and if I used large-bore paint, sometimes they would get stuck, so I chopped paint every 10th shot almost. To move the plug out a little, I put a piece of wire in between the powerfeed tube and the plug. That moved the plug out just enough to solve the problem.

At what ROF does this befome a problem? I have a Level 7 pf 'mag and i guess i can get somewhere around 10-12 bps, and i have never had a problem, with balls not feeding after i switched froma 9 to 12 volt revolution.

is it possible for the new power feed to get worn out? It looks like i've had the new one for a while now and it looks kind of worn out.
