this kind of goes along with the other thread. i know ticket prices are going up at an insane clip, so i'm curious just how bad it is everywhere else.

edit- don't include any discounts you get. just normal prices for your theater. and feel free to post how much you pay exactly.

I pay $0. Reason…. I have not been to a movie in a theatre for over 7 years.

I have a large family and if I can’t bring them all, I don’t go. I have instead invested in a home theatre system and watch movies that way. And since my oldest has been working at a video store for 2 years, I have not rented a movie in 2 years either. ;)

But I have to be honest, I like it this way. I am 6’4” and theatre seats can get uncomfortable awful quickly.

Ah Sam, you need to go to some of the newer Stadium style theatres. One near me in Washington Township actually has couch style seats as well! So you could really stretch out and lie down if you wanted! :D

Amen to that. They don't seem to design things around tall people.

But, for what you get, I think you are paying too much as it is.

The trick is you take the booster seats to annoy the people behind you.
I usually put my legs over the seat infront of me and its fairly comforatble :)
I had one jerk when it was me 2 friends and about 5 other people in the theater who decided to come sit right next to the chair I had me feet on, then he starts yelling at me. There are atleast 100 empty seats, and he knowingly chooses that one just so he can complain, some people suck.

Seven bucks for evening movies. It gets expensive, I mean if I take my girl to dinner and a movie your looking at about 20-25 bucks for dinner and then 14 bucks for the movie. Thats an easy 35-40 bucks, and that alot of money for someone who currently is unemployed

Where's the option for 20K in home theater gear so I can watch them for free?

And on a side note, only about 2000 more movies and I'll break even on the cost of the gear.;)

It's really all about the numbers.
