SuperStock WGP Opinions

I am looking for a new marker and I have my eye on cockers

In my other thread I wanted to know what I could get for 850, but, my budjet has been limited to around 600. I was looking around and was surprized to see the WGP SuperStock - I have never heard of it before. If you dont know what it is, its basically a 2k3 cocker with an eblade. I was wondering if anyone has owned one of these and/or if you have any opinions on it. My highest concerns are reliability, really

pretty decent... could use a new LPR, maybe a bolt, and a samurai trigger... oh, and some QEV's

but on the other hand, its good for a stock gun

Get a new barrel and you'll have a great gun, all that other stuff is very nice to have, but not needed.

I had a stock 'cocker w/ eblade. I thought that it was heavy, and it had a lot of kick. I shot someone elses eblade before that, and it was much nicer. His 'cocker had a delrin bolt which would cut the kick back down. The stock ram is fine, it cycles plenty fast. I would have kept it had it not been so much $$ ($550, 1 eblade 2nds from eclipse @ $300 and one 2k3 'cocker @ $300 - $50 for selling the hinge).

basicly that 'superstock' is just an outcast (not positive on the milling any more) with a stock valve, ram, inline reg, and old style stock barrel.

Cuts down the cost of including a black magic reg and more styled barrel, both of which usually get replaced anyway.. so why pay for them. I think its a great deal.

What is a samurai trigger? and where would I get one?

The Samurai Trigger is a slimmed down and lightened version of the stock E-Blade Trigger. Check out http://www.planeteclipse.com

You can't really compare the two when the superstock has an eblade...

The outcast has more milling, and a few cuts through the body where the pump arm indent is.

Im not comparing the two... I was making reference to which milled body they were using. But if you pay what 850 or 950, something like that, for a worrblade with an 'upgraded barrel' and you turn around and buy a new barrel... might as well not even have paid for that barrel. Thus I think the super stock is a great deal in that it provides a marker that works out of the box, but you don't pay much for what you are most likely to replace anyway (ie reg, bolt, barrel, valve).

If you get anything "better" than a Superstock you're throwing away money on a cocker.

One caveat is that the metal bolt can cause bounce problems.

Anyways I think it would be an alright marker, just put a derlin bolt and a nice barrel and it will be pretty decent. You can pick up a a used viking for that price if you look around :cool:

oh yeah, I just remembered, you can't get an adjustable/clamping feed with those, and not being able to sucks big time.
