View Full Version : Would you buy new "retro" gear today?

Given the popularity of Tyger's retro-ball post, I have a question for both AGD and AO.

Would people today rather buy new retro gear, or are you happy with buying second hand gear off of eBay, complete with authentic rust?

My question for AGD is whether or not it's viable to do limited runs of items that haven't been in production for years? Such as Micro-CA, 6-Paks, pump kits, Sydarms, etc.

Has this ever been discussed within the company, and how many pieces would have to be sold for even a limited production run to be feasible?

Personally, I would love the opportunity to get a NIB Sydarm, and would certainly pick up a Micro-CA II for modified stock play if they were readily available.

Here's to living in 1990 ... ;)

Opinions AO?

I'd step up to purchase some stuff like that.

Give me a sydarm at a decent price, and I'd be in line.

I think it would matter what the cost is. I would love to have a Sydarm, but will not pay the going rate. Now a Micro-CA and 6-Pak... mmmmmm Sweet goodness.

Yep. I think it would be a good idea all depending on price of course. What was the original going rate for sydarms, not the over inflated ebay prices today.

i would DEFINATELY get a six pack if it was a reasonable price, thet would be so awesome, also, ive always wanted a pump mag (and a sniper) but never played pump enough to justify investing that much on a pump that i would rarely use, oh well, guess the blade will do :p

I have been buggin people about this very ideas on a couple of boards...

I dream of a pump mag in my sleep.

Pretty please, re-release some of these old goodies. Specifically;

pump kits
6 - paks

Good idea Tyger!

I saw that being a 68'Magger with no plans to get it 'electrified'.

Probably not unless the prices were to good to pass up.

If AGD mass marketed the Sydarm, all the people clamoring for zeuses would be head over heels... hell if I had money Id buy one in a second.

I would love to get a new 6-pack to use with my Sniper2.

The only reason I don't have one is because I don't want to pay the inflated prices they go for now when you can find one.

I would be so up to buy that kind of stuff. Especially stuff like old gear or the 6-pac or maybe a stuff to build an old school stock class automag.

id love a ule sydarm because it would be nice and easy to convert to stock class, and be light. Kinda like what Burphel did to his sydarm, cept lighter and aluminum
