OK, math time!

Let's see here.....two football fields (not counting endzones) = 200 yards.

200 yards = 600 feet.

Speed of sound, at sea level, at 70 degrees F = 1129 fps.

If you're 600 feet away, you'll hear the "very loud" gun fire .53 seconds after it does.

If he's shooting some type of magic paintballs that are not affected by air friction or wind, and you're playing safe by shooting 300 fps, seems to me that you'll have a second and a half to dodge. Add in real life factors such as wind, etc, and the time is a LOT longer. You can pretend to be Neo and dodge the ball.

I'm a little too lazy to look up air resistance numbers. But common sense tells me that the ball would have to leave the gun at rifle-like velocities to make it that far, and at those speeds I don't think a plastic mask is going to help you very much.

Someone do the math. Please. I can't find my physics book.

Sounds to me like this guy is selling a FIREARM on eBay, which is against the rules.

And when was the last time you saw 600 feet of clear woods to shoot through? I think that's called a field.

Lets see, at 300fps and a 35 degree angle a paintball will travel about 300 feet. So, we could ASSUME that at 600fps it would travel 600 feet.

The effective range is about half that, so all it needs to do is fire at 1200fps. What's the big deal? ;)

120 meters per second, now my math isn't the greatest, but that's roughly 375 fps give or take. How is that even safe given that current masks are only rated to withstand 300 fps hits?

A lot of us aren't taking it too seriously, it did give me a good laugh when i read it, but your description portrays paintball in a very bad light.

Say there's a kid that wants to get a new paintball marker and he goes on ebay to check it out. He sees this thing and thinks it's pretty cool (for the sake of arguement we will say that money is not an issue) so he shows his parents. They read it and instantly they're going to be turned off to the sport as a whole.

All markers shoot the same distance with the same velocity, paint to bore match, regardless of barrel length.

The only barrel that adds range is the flatline barrel, and that's not the greatest investment anyway.

And if you're asking whether I would step out on the field with that marker...I play with people who do things like that all the time. Waste of money.

And now you're telling me I need to modify my markers correctly? I don't need any mods on any of my markers anymore, they shoot just fine for tournament level play.

Vy = 120 *sin(10) = 20.836 m/s

Dy = Do +VoT +1/2 A T^2
0 = 1.7 +20.838 T +1/2 * -9.81 T^2
T= 4.328 s

Dx = Vx*t
Vx = 120*cos(10) = 118.177 m/s --> Dx = 118.177 *4.328
=511.52 m = 1677.8 ft

1677.8 ft ~= 5.6 football feilds...
this is without air resistance... so with it might cut it in half or so... whatever.. cya

I'm not sure where you get your numbers from, but here is where mine came from:

You'll have to convert mps to fps...

120mps = 394fps (1 meter = 3.2808399 feet)

At 97.5mps and a 10 degree angle a paintball will travel approx 88 yards. I don't think the extra 22.5mps is going to give you an extra 122 yards. :rolleyes:

The barrel in your pics is one of two no longer in production, and neither one had twist rifling inside. One had spiral porting, which does not spin the ball, and the other had straight line rifling, and again no spin.

The result? A paintball frozen to absolute zero (you guys weren't thinking that frozen, so it can withstand relativistic velocities), that can travel at roughly .03c (3% of the speed of light) and go through a 6 foot (1.82 meter) titanium block at 17 miles (roughly 27358 meters). If you want me to do the physics, I could, but I'm sure most of you would be pretty confused. The 2 football fields means Galactic Standard, which is played on a field far larger than you guys realize. This is how he can justify his record of 1260 kills (literal kills) to 1 death (figurative death, meaning a normal paintball hit him). Shoot...I'd pay 1000 bucks for that.

well ive tuned a gun to shoot 600 yeah it broke all tourny lvl paint but nelson was ok i only broke 1/2 the time n i only used that gun once in a game cuz a friend was braggin he was gunna win shooting 525 per second.
