is there any differences?, ive always used compressed air

Air itself is 78% nitrogen.

So technically they are the same thing. Most places do HPA only b/c its cheaper than Nitrogen.

It's pretty much the same thing, n2 and hpa.

Air itself is 78% nitrogen.

Why N2 tanks are interchangable with compresed air.

i knew that n2 made up 75+percent of air
i was just wondering if there was any special advatange to having 100% n2
thanks anyway guys

Not a great difference between the two.:)

Yeah there is one - it makes your wallet lighter faster :)

pure n2 is cleaner, but you will not notice a difference at all.

n2 should flow better, but it wouldnt be enough to make a big difference.

as everyone else said there is not much difference. The biggest difference is the lack of moisture in N2 over compressed air N2 is used as line drying media for all television transmission lines to prevent them from arcing. Which they will do if ANY moisture is present.

N2 is better, but not worth the extra $$$ in paintball

If you get Scuba fills the air is actually cleaner. They are required to put the air through a filter array before dispensing it.

True.

If you really have a wad of green to blow and want to be uber cool, have your fiber tank 02 cleaned and service rated, and you can get your tank filled with enriched air.

"My tank's got nitrox in it, so it'll shoot through your foot, you stoopid n00b."

That's what I invision someone doing with what I just said...

Why would you want Nitrox? That would lower the N2 and raise the O2. I don't see any advantage at all.

Zacbot try a search, this has been discussed in depth many times.

Nitrox isn't quite nitrous oxide, but getting there. ;)

IT WAS A JOKE!!

I think it was a joke. Wasnt it?

they are both the same...
...some call them N2 tanks cause they are holding N2 more than "oxygen" which people think is air...

its sort of like saying "autocockers suck" since the majority of them do

i heard that hpa has jest a little liquid in it and its chaper then nitro i dont know if its true

Nitrogen is more stable under extreme conditions.

For example - Nascar fills their tires with nitrogen and not regular compressed air. Theres less inconsistancies with pure nitrogen than compressed air.

" heard that hpa has jest a little liquid in it and its chaper then nitro i dont know if its true"

...any gas can have a little liquid in it if you get it cold enough...but i dont it cause at room temp ...air is air...DuH!

...if there was a difference betwen N2 and compressed air all the N2 would have to be nitrogen to notice any diference...
...Nitrogen is just before oxygen on the periodic table so its a little lighter and it can triple bond unlike oxygen while oxygen can only double bond...
(hope that helps if it makes anys sense to you)

LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! joesf33's first post was here

IN theoretical cirucmstances nitrogen is better.. however you will never see any practical advantage to using it in paitnball with current technology.

for one thing N is more inert, but not as inert as say helium. Back before I knew what was what, I wanted to try filling a paintball tank with helium, but the density/mass is way too low, so you'd either need a tank capable of withstanding MUCH higher pressures or a much bigger tank lol....

rant over.

I use 40% mix Nitrox so my Mag doesn't get bent. LOL
When I run out of NItrox I take the Argon bottle from my drysuit and hook that up; it intoxicates my X-Valve.
