Hey all. I've been browsing this forum for quite some time, but I hadn't gotten around to registering and posting. I've owned two mags, the latter of which I just bought recently. Here are a couple of pics:

Old 68 Classic (Smart Parts, Ugh.)

New ULE Mag (just bought)

The New Mag has Intelli, Lev-10, ULE and an X-valve. It was amazing to me how much lighter this gun was when I first picked it up (it felt like a toy. Here's the question, though. The guy I bought the mag from had a screw that was pitted connecting the Drop with the On/Off. When I Tried to back it out, it snapped. Basically I've got to replace both the components and I was wondering which Drop/On-Off I should buy (ive got a 88/4500 tank).

I'd also love any comments on the Mag, or suggestions as to what I should do to it. (If I hadnt been running C02 and gotten the barrel and the tank with the gun for cheap, I woulda bought a rogue mag. If only i knew the *&!@** who sold me the gun had a dry rotted screw in the Drop...).

Nice to finally be posting here,

-Uziel

BTW, I epoxied the on/off back on in the interim, I hope it doesn't fall off ;p

Suggestion: Clean up the long hose running up to the valve. Use a gas-thru foregrip like it's mean to be used. connect a very short hose to the bottom of the grip and then run the hose from a vertical ASA to the valve with another short hose. Use stainless steel with quick disconnect to the valve. (just like the minimag).

Hi.

I'm new here as well, but no mag.

Nice one, though.

Shocktech drops/on offs are good, so are Custom Products. With that light of a gun you might even consider a rail drop, depending on your size. I would recomend getting a Rogue feedneck, and a ULT if you don't already have it.

Welcome to AO!

Glad to have another lurker poke his head out of the ground and acknowledge everybody...;)

Nice mags, and I admit I had one of those SP splash kits:rolleyes:

I'd also recommend running your gas line up thru the grip to clean it up a bit. Try ULT and see if you like it, but thats probably all a need. Maybe send her off for new anno?

Again, welcome

Actually, It's got a ULT kit - I neglected to mention that.

I had to replace the drop, because the screw was stripped and the guy's at Wayne's World here couldn't get it out.

And yeah, Fire1811, I did buy it on ebay ;p

I'm going to mess around with a couple more things regarding the Drop and the ASA. I was thinking the same thing with the gas through grip also, its either swap that out next or pick up a shorter barrel (this one is a 16"). As far as my size goes - im only 140 lbs (although i have no problem managing the gun with the drop and the tank as it is currently).

Just to share my preferences:

I had the line running to the foregrip, but I changed it. It still got in the way. I brought it back and up from the on/off behind the gun to the Valve. Its out of the way like that and looks better in my opinion.

Also, I like rails instead of drops... You might pick up a CP rail and see if you like it.

If you want a shorter barrel, check out equations.

Their Bizerk and Bizerk pro barrels are sweet. Bizerk pro's come with optional inserts so you can make a kit out of it.
