Just wondering if anyone here picked a musical instrument, and how long you've been playing it? I play drums (set) and have been playing for 4 yrs now..

I played tenor sax for about 3 years or so...

Now I want to learn how to play the fiddle. You can get a "starter" violin for $150, then I have to get it fiddle-tuned, and find someplace for lessons... for some reason I don't think I'll be getting around to it :)

Fiddle/violin is NOT an easy insturment at all. I wish I played the guitar for 6 years instead of the violin.

Been playing guitar since I was 15 (that's for more than 25 years!) Sometimes seriously. They collect more dust than get played these days, though.

i played the trumpet & cornet a while ago, I think i played it for 4-5 years, don't remember but i was pritty damn good :). Key to playing some good cornet is good posture, good breathing, strong ombisher, holding the intrament properly and learning all your octives :).

I never said it was easy, I just said I wanted to learn it :-)

And I have no interest in classical violin, just the fiddle aspect, but since Im totally unaware of how the instrument is played right now, I don't know how much of a crossover there is between the two, since the fiddle is usually played faster and has a different tune, etc.
