Why don't manufactures put a date on boxes of paint so you can tell really how old it is. Like "this batch was made on....".

I know there is a lot of factors to paints freshness, but this is a main one. Plus wouldn't it force fields to sell out their paint quicker. They couldn't get away with having massive, old inventories.

I'd rather see clear and concise rehydro dates on tanks. Especially CO2 tanks.

I have been wondering the same thing for several years now.

I doubt paintball manufacturers would do anything to hurt their chances of moving paint off the shelf.

True if we know its old we'd never buy it.Maybe some small company will do it and it'll go well so the bigger companys will start it I dunno wishful thinking:D

It would be good if you got it from the manufacturer. But imagine what proshops whould go through. they would never sell the paint they have instock, because you would refuse to buy it.

I guess most of you have never seen nitro duck paint. They had "born on" dating a few years ago. Not sure if they still do it, but if you look at ads for their paint it may still advertise this.

Old paint won't sell at new prices.

and perhaps better labelling on the shell/fill of the paint, for how brittle the shell is, and the thickness of the fill (and maybe even the size category too)

Brittleness will depend on age and storage. Size will change with the humidity or lack of.

I do like the size idea.Yes,it will change due to humidity but the main idea couldnt hurt anything...

I know there are many variables, such as the location of the store, but does anyone know about how long it takes a case of paint to reach the shelf in a store?

GAP does, the problem is that alot of times certain colors move faster than others. So you have paint sitting, this applies to both retail stores and the manufacturers. People wouldn tbuy the older paint and it would just sit there.
