John Woo is producing with the option to direct.

I'm really annoyed. John Woo has Lucas Syndrome.

With movies like the Wizard and the Mario Brothers movie, I have no hope for this movie. On top of this, John Woo is at the helm.

It's gonna be boring as hell...There just isn't a lot about the game besides killing, and that can get old in games.

I dunno, Tomb Raider is sucessful, and it's got no more of a story line than Metroid ever had.

Well, usually with movies they don't stick exactly with the story line of the book/game its based off of. It'll probably be some person vs alien's trying to kill the universe type thing. Just a guess.:)

This is old news to me. Someone bought the rights and was going to make it then they trashed the idea at least for a while and now I guess it's going to be made after all :D .

Dude, Street Figther the movie kicked so much arse!

I want to see Half Life be made into amovie. No wait, halo! Or better yet, metal gear solid! or splinter cell!

They pic the worst games to make movies about. Mortal Kombat? come on now! There is no plot to it!

Yeah, but Lara Croft has secret agencies working with her. Samus can't even talk, can she? (I never beat Metroid Prime for GC, so I can't remember too well)

Bah, I don't care. I'm more concerned with the FFVII movie that's coming out, and hoping they don't butcher it. It IS supposed to continue the story.

I dunno.

The metroid type world is very similar to the style of movie John Woo makes. I mean if you go back to his earlier movies (lets forget about MI2) he made some quality action flicks.

If done right Metroid could be something he could excell at, but it really depends on what way Woo goes at it.

At least we know this much... Samus wont fall in love, unless the secret director is Ang Lee :)

Yeah, two secret agencies made the movie popular. The Right and Left. And they bounce and jiggle. :p

Amen. Now they need to make it so Samus's suit is cloth right there and we'll be in buissness.

It's a cool thing to like? I think it was about 2-3 years ago that I descovered Metroid and I've been a huge fan ever since.

yeah totally loved metriod since NES. Ridley was such a cool boss :)

I haven't played some of the newer ones, but I tried the new gameboy one and when Samus dies her armor blows off and she aint wearin much underneath. Made me wanna buy the game.

I'm such a push over for hot chicks :p

well, he's not directing it yet, he just has the option to...

lets all remember, Samus has to take off the armor sometime... (there's my one dirty thought for the day...) so that'll be redeeming for the raging-hormone-teenagers and nerdy college students who've been playing Metroid since the 80s.

If its not too CG based, I think it could be pretty cool.

Super Metroid for the SNES is one of my favorite games of all time!

I didn't like Prime too much though, Metriod needs to be a side scroller.
