I heard about this a week ago. Well the guy bet everything he had on one spin of the roulette wheel...and won!

Story! (http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/TV/04/11/roulette.win.reut/index.html)

Not sure if he is a moron or a ballsy guy!

Would if he lost it all, he would be 32 year old man living with his parents :p Why would some one sell every thing he owns just to bet it in las vegas, people like that should deserve to lose

Its a fair sum for his things.

For Example:
House - 50-100000
Car - 5-20,000
Odds and Ends - 10,000

Hes got balls though.

Well he won't be a lot better off when he gets home due to the horrible exchange rate for dollars to pounds he gets very roughly £158,000 and in London he would be lucky to get a one bed apartment for that money. Though it would buy a chateau in France :D :D...well a big house anyway.

I bet $100 red once the first time I gambled and won. This was after a string of 8 black numbers in a row. As for the guy, I was also hoping that he would lose.

My thoughts exactly. I wanted him to lose so he would have to go home in his underwear. I mean who sells all their clothes? He is a moron! A lucky one, but a moron none the less.

The way I look at it, he would have won either way. Think about it……

Yeah, I'm sure that since there was so much publicity around this thing that if he did end up losing there would have been a ton of donations giving to this guy just so he wouldn't have to go back to England with nothing.

Not to mention what he could make on the talk show circuit. And he could have even probably gotten money for advertising, and other things. Heck, he may STILL benefit like that.

America is the land of opportunity and being “celebrity” is where the money gets made…. Can you say “Shake your Bon Bon”? ;)

the article spells mom mum. see----The wheel was spun, a crowd of supporters including his Mum and Dad from London went wild, the ball bobbled over the slots and landed on Red '7' -- and Revell walked away with $270,600.

"It all happened so quickly, it was spinning before I knew it," Revell said, adding he did not intend to try to double it again. He gave a $600 tip to the croupier and plans to party -- and buy some clothes.

"It's really down to my friends and family and Mum and Dad

Wait, he just bet on red? Like isn't a roulette wheel half black half red? Wouldn't he have made more money if he picked like a number to go with it? Either way he is still a moron. I would have put back like 10,000 just incase.

Roulette can be bet on many ways. You can bet colors or numbers. Also there are green spaces for 0 and 00. The difference is your odds and payout. Had he bet a number and hit, he would have won 36x his money. Betting the colors have higher odds thus the 1 to 1 payout. :D
