I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a nickle-dust finish, if so how did it turn out?

If you have ever seen any Palmers gun, that's a classic satin nickle finish. The satin is a touch more durable the the gloss finish (more surface area) and looks alot better after play as it dosen't attract fingerprints like a magnet as does a gloss nickle finish.

note: this is an older pic and the color correction was not quite right due to uneven lighing conditions,

What is the difference between a satin finish and a dust finish?

If I understand the TERMS correctly, to achieve a dust finish, the peace is heavily sand/bead blasted before anno. If that's correct, how do you achieve a satin finish??

Satin and dust can pretty much be used interchangably.

You can get widly differing surface finishes depending on the media used to do the blasting, the blasting pressure, if any etching is done prior to the plating or ano.

So, I would assume satin is very lightly blasted. Any idea how a heavely blasted peace would look nickle plated?
