Model 98 threading

Did the model 98 change its thread pattern, because i have what i was told is a M98 threaded barrel but it doesn't look like the m98 barrels i used to have.

Yes, they did change their barrel threading. However, it still looks very similar; it's not drastically different.

Barrels with the new threads will fit guns with either the old or new threads. Guns with the new threads must take barrels with the new threads, you can't use barrels with the old threads.

The change began with serial numbers 495,501 and up.
