I've heard the Zeus ones are really nice.

the only reason I WOULDNT say the sydarm, is because its damn near impossible to get now. All of them seem to be similar, but Ive heard good about the Zeus. Got to use one last year, and it was pretty cool. Then theres the PGP which is tried and true (Gets my vote). If I had money Id get one and send it to Doc for monsterfication... and Id buy another to fill the gap between when I sent it and when I get it back  :p ...

rant over.

The Sidekick Semi is a nice pistol. I've had one for a couple of years now and have been really happy with it.

I've also heard good things about the Zeus. After looking around the web for a while, it seems to be the pistol (available to the public) to beat.

My only complaint about the sydarm is that it holds 8 balls, annoying with 10 rd tubes.

Squall VERY pricey, but INHO THE BEST

Squalls are great, but a bit heavy for some of the “weaker” folks. I however LOVE them. My Stroker is also set to run as a pistol with a remote, and it kicks rear.

I guess when folks ask what the best “pistol” is, they really need to be a bit more specific. There is a wide range of sizes and configurations that can be had with paintball pistols.

ok, sydarm is too expensive so its between the sidekick and the zeus, but ive heard the sidekicks leak.

not to mention that Sydarms SUCK on CO2. I love the Squall, but as sam pointed out, they are a great "pistol" but way to big and heavy to use as a sidearm.

agreed the sydarms are costly but I like that I can get up to 280fps. I get around 16 shots off a 12 gram. My first sidekick did leak but once I had it repaired it was fine

280fps is hard to do with a sydarm. I could get mine to about 260 usually. And they are very inefficient.

the delta is alright, it's the improved better version of the pt extreme.

I have a Delta .68 and internally it is just the same as any slim-striker blowback.
So in case something goes wrong you can just replace them.

If you don't mind rock-n-cock, then a Splatmaster would be a good choice. You can pick them up on Ebay for $40-50 and they rarely go wrong.
I've been using mine since '88 and only rebuilt it once, two years ago.

i say the best pistol would be to make your own!

gat a classic power feed mag, stock minimag barrel and cut it to 4 inches(do a good job) get a bow elbow(duh) and some 10 round tubes for the top, a remote, and one of those tiny little 4 oz or 8 oz tanks to put in your pocket or pack and bam, best pistol on the market

AGD Sydarm :) Yes, I'm biased, but it's still true.

Hey,
you said I was biased towards AGD? Not really, it's just a fact that AGD rules.

THe Side Kicks are awesome. They were originally called the Wolfpack. I knew the guy who created them. He later sold the design to some people who made their own and then called them what you know them as today. Side Kicks are a great design, shoot very fast, and are amazingly accurate.

Here is my PPS Stroker in one of my available configurations. This is as pistol with motorized hopper… for when you want the pistol feel and use, but need the extra paintballs. It is run with a remote like pictured.

I can also put on my front grip and either use my gas-through stock with remote, or use a direct CO2 bottle as a stock off the back.

OR, I can run it with a 12Gram off the back and take off the hopper and replace it with a 10 Round Feed tube.

OR, I can use it with the 10 Round Feed tube with the remote as well.

I simply love the versatility this marker gives me. I have some touchups on the grip frame to do, and some parts coming in to really complete this setup. And of course I will be putting on new grips as well…. when I get the time to make them.

IMHO most (if not all) of the blow-back pistols are not worth getting. Overpriced and generally not that reliable.

The Sydarm would be a fine pistol if it was cheaper and if it was actually supported by AGD. If for example you get a problem with the seal between the 12g and the valve, good luck. Also, shooting a mag valve on liquid co2 has never been a good idea.

The Splatmaster is fantastic, as long as you don't crack it while taking it appart.

If you want a good pistol, you have to go with a Sheridan (PGP, P68sc, etc), a CCI Micro-Phantom, or a Palmer of some kind.

Don't waste your money on something cheap that has no resale value and is hard to fix.

whats the best semi paintball pistol

According to these requirements "semi paintball pistol", I would have to go with either the AGD Sydarm, the Zeus, Squall or a MODDED PGP. All of these will be great sidearms or backup pistols.

I would prefer to have a Sydarm over all the others simply due to the size and feel of it. Yes it may have drawbacks, but so do the others, and you just have to go with whatever feels right for you.

Just my .02

thanks everyone and i think that i am going to get a sidekick semi for the price(61 on ebay) and ive heard good things about it. I already have a pgp and i just wanted a semi so im selling it and i have a phantom so i dont want a micro phantom, and the sydarms cost too much because im also trying to save up for shatnerball.

The zeus is a great pistol. my friend has one, and it works a heck of alot better then the PT Xtreme I once owned. never had a prob with the zeus, or so he says.
