My friend and I have a bet. Based on performance which would be better, a souped up 68automag or a stock impy? Also where can I order a good expansion chamber for my 68? 888paintball didnt have one so Im outta ideas

i'd go with the mag, great design, reliable, accurate but not the fastest marker in the world. Look on ebay, pbgear there's tons of em hanging around the classifieds section.

you are going to challenge him with co2 go get an HPA system so you can get better results on both of your markers. If you want a sight that sells expansion chambers go check out paintball-discounters.com. I would sell you mine but I am selling it to some newbie already. :D
oh yeah as for a specific type get a bob long they are tough, but heavy.

If that souped up 'Mag doesn't have an X-Valve, it's gonna have no chance. Both markers are gonna be accurate, consistent, yadda yadda. After that it comes down to speed. Imp wins.

go with an xvalve and a hyperframe. that should make it about even.

I would say that a X-valve and ULT makes it pretty much even performance vice. Then lets not talk about durability, consistency, weight, profile, trust in the manufacturer etc. A classic mag will not compete against an Imp although...just to much paint coming from the imp in comparison.

hyperframe?

Also arent x-valves frigging expensive? For all the money Id put in a mag wouldnt I be better off getting an impy and saving a few $$$?

ASA adapter? Theres an expansion chamber for a mag but like 70 dollars.

I don't think I would buy a x-valve to a classic mag. Better to sell it and buy a ULE Custom. Heck, an x-valve costs 325$ without trade in, and a Custom with SS body, stock frame, no ULT or barrel costs 340$.

I think just buying a ULE RT Pro for 340 is better then upgrading.

well idk how much it would sell for. Its got a lvl 10 in it too. But what would I get instead? I dont have much for financial resources though. BTW how much would a 98 custom flatline /w expansion chamber and an adjustable stock trade for?

Which one do you like better? If speed were the only factor everyone would be shooting the same gun. With that Intelliframe the feel of your mag should be greatly improved. You have LX already so that's great. I'd suggest getting HPA if you have ready access to fills (else get an X-chamber and an anti-siphon tube installed in your co2 tank) and one or two more barrels with a different ID (bore size) than your current one (if you don't currently have a barrel kit).

I have both an Impulse and a 'Mag. While I like my Imp a bit more, I have also sunk ::far:: too much money into it and could have bought almost any other marker out there. What I'm trying to get at is: If you like your mag, keep it. If you like your friends Impulse, get one. If you want to try out a 'Cocker, do it. Use whatever feels the best to you no matter what anyone else says. Good Luck.

I used to rock the LvL10 Intelli Mag...
but then I wised up and got an impy

the only reason I got the imp is because my friend got me a REALLY REALLY good deal on it, I didn't pay full price for anything on it, ALL NDZ inside. For all the money it would cost to get a imp to friggin kik @ss you can just get an e-mag and be done right there.

I guess im sticking with mag because unless I got a fatwad of cash and am doing national tournaments I dont think il need that much speed. Plus im chiefly rec ball anyway
