Stupid fore grip question

I'm used to a seeing pass through grips, regulators, etc. mount to the ASA in front of the trigger guard. Except for the mimimag rail that clearly shows the ASA, do you need a special fore grip that mounts directly to the rail?

Yeah, you'll need a vertical adapter to mount most fore-grips.

There are some that bolt directly onto the rail though, such as the Roguegrip. WIth those, no adapter is needed.
