heyas, I searched for an answer to this without any luck.
If it safe to leave a battery charging with the car turned off? I dont wanna drain my car battery ;)
Also, while on the subject how long does the battery take to charge?
First off, on many cars (like mine), the cig lighter socket isn't "hot" unless the ignition is turned on. I bought a Radio Shack AC to DC power supply, P/N 22-501, $9.99. As far as charging times, I've never let my battery get too low (my E-Mag is only 9 days old, and my eMicro, well, that's another story  ) The E-Mag's instruction sheet says to charge "until the green light comes on", then 3 to 4 more hours of trickle charge for a maximum charge. Will it kill your car battery? I doubt it. I used to charge MANY 7.2v R/C car battery packs up in a day, with never a problem.
