I know the X-valve is all aluminum, and the only difference between that and the ReTro valve is that part of the ReTro is stainless steel, but what part? The valve has what looks to be the front of it (towards the bolt) aluminum (from what it looks like), the on/off assembly stainless steel (where the writing is), and the velocity adjuster piece looks like aluminum also. I want to anodize whatever external parts are aluminum black. Thanks.

can't you get just the outside of it anno'd? So all the external parts are steel? I thought one parted looked like brushed aluminum. Oh well.

On a ReTro valve, the black part is aluminum. The rest is stainless.

On the Xvalve, all the black stuff is aluminum, but the powertube is still steel.

And the moment you try and get the valve anno'd, you lose your warranty b/c the serial # is erased. And no, you can't put it back on. Once its gone, it's gone.
