the idea is: comcast is giving a deal where if u turn in ur old dish/directTV system, they give u 400 bucks towards bill. wondering if i can get the credit with a friends equipment....or if they check etc?

It was not official back when we talked about it on AVS. In fact, many had problems with trying to get it honored. Many of us needed the $400, especially after spending thousands on speakers alone. Home theaters.......

They take the receiver. They take the LNB. All of this is setup and installed at your house. Then they take them. So, unless you're friends stuff is installed at your house, you can't get it.

BTW, I'm just kidding about that. But you really can't get the deal... Sorry, but trying to cheat the system is not too smart. Besides, if they ever found out, you'd probably need a lawyer. You can't get this deal though....... so you don't have to worry.
