the black is in rememberance of those lost in the attacks. The reason the yellow has been added on is because it signifies our hope for the safe return of our troops in combat.

Thanks Smokee_2_7.

For the full explanation (for thoses who missed it) please read the following:

It has begun...
Since we have officially committed troops and began the attacks, I have (as I said I would) added the yellow stripe to the Black ribbon. If you are not familiar with the meaning of this symbol, here it is again:

It is made up of 3 major parts…

The Official Seal of the United States:
This symbol has deep meaning within it. Its elements represent many things, but I will not get into them all at
this point. I used it to represent the Government of the United States and those working FOR the Government, such
as the Police, Fire Department, Armed Forces, Rescue personnel, etc.

The Flag of the United States:
This symbol has deep meaning within it as well. And as with the Seal, I will not go into each of its elements at
this time. I used it to represent our great Nation as a whole. Its people and spirit.

The Black & Yellow Ribbon:
This symbol is one of respect and mourning for those lost in the attack as well as for the support of our Troops.
The Black is for mourning and the Yellow stripe added to the Black Ribbon is to signify our desire for the safe
return of our troops. Thus the ribbon is made of 2 stripes, one Black and one Yellow.

The combination of all three elements, create a deep and heartfelt symbol. It unites our Nation, Government, Agencies, and the Masses, in a common cause and respect. We set aside out differences and focus on what makes us who we are, and the nation we truly are as well.

I hope this better explains what the Image stands for, as well as why so many are using it.

For those who are using this Symbol…. Thank you. It means more than you can know.

(Note: The old dimensions were wrong. I took what another person posted them as but did not check them myself.
You know who you are, so you might want to change them in your signature.. that is why your graphic looks a bit
choppy. ;))

Thanks MajorDamage, but I actually never left. I was just not posting. All the other things I had been doing before, were still being done. They were just being done behind the scenes.

I am glad, however, that people wanted me back up front again.

Thanks.
