The price differences seem small. Is there a reason why the 114/4500 tanks are less than the 68/4500 tanks? What's the preferred size?

114 tanks are freaking huge, and there really is no need to have a tank that large.

114 tanks are *huge* You'll have quite a bit of air, but they're generally just too big. The most used size is more than likely a 68/4500 though. Some people may use an 88 stubby if they play back, or 45 if they want to cut some weight. Most efficiency comparisons are on a 68/4500 though, if that gives any indication of how often they're used.

I like my 68's best - I have a 91 but it is too big. 45'sCI are nice if you can get consistent fills to 4500PSI but if yo cant go with 68 - my opinion

each tank size has a significant difference in size, you wont be able to ask us
the only one i can suggest off the top is 68

My personal favorite is the 88 stubby. Its the same length as the 68 inch tanks and only an inch wider. Holds a lot more air than your standard 68 (noticable).

I use a 71/4500 with a small shocktech drop. Works perfect for me

I've owned a 45/45 conquest, 68/30 crossfire, 68/45 pe, 88/5k pe, and a 72/45 pe tank, the 88 and 72 are both stubby tanks. The 72 has been far my favorite, just love the feel of stubby tanks.

I like the 68ci size the most. Before upping the internals in my 'Cocker I'd worry about shot count, but the stubby 88s make the gun too damn back heavy.

But now I do a case off a 68.45 so it's cool with me. :)

68 all the way. I love the way a 68 with a mini drop plays.

I use a 45/45. If you're really interested in on-field performance, then I would think you would want to carry the bare minimum that you need to get you through a single game. Carrying a larger tank because it lasts you all day seems to make about as much sense as carrying an entire day's worth of paint on you for every game.

If you're worried about other stuff, like air fill costs, then yeah, go with a larger tank.

I think the most popular sizes on average will be the 68 and 70 stubby.

I can't explain the inverse relationship between tank size and pricing, other than... gouging.

72 peanut hands down. its a noticable diffrence than my 68 at least another 200 shots off that tank. but 68 are nice 91 are huge 114 is just a freakin scuba tank. i would go with the 72 but if you cant find one get a 68

One other thing: When people talk about CF tanks, are they referring to Center Flag or Cross Fire?

They are generally referring to Center Flag.
I use an 88/4500 Stubby and 47/3000 Crossfires on my Cocker and Spyder and a 114/3000 Raptor on my Mag. The Raptor is quite compact because of its mounting system. The regulator is directly underneath the grip frame.

I'd say it also depended on the gun you were using. I can get away with 45/45s on my AKA guns easily, the mag wont really do well with anything other than a 68/45 for me, due to the amount of paint I shoot. It also depends on the position you prefer. Front guys typically use small tanks, back guy use bigger ones.

Currently, Im using a 68/45 centerflag dynaflow. Its a good size for any gun.

I had a 114/4500 MaxFlo (LP output) up until recently. While it held a lot of air, I realized it was too big for my needs. Now I've got a 70/4500 crossfire (HP output), and can use it on either my BM2K or my 'Mag.

It's just a matter of preference. I personally like running my 114 4.5ksi geddon. I use a remote and run it from a kamel pack. This way it doesn't interfere with any harness I wear. Also it seems to be easier to find the 114's cheaply over the more desired smaller tanks.

I also like not having to worry about fills. At texball I was running about 900psi output and I shot a little over 1k rounds on just over 1/2 a tank.

yeah 88 stubby is the best imo, with the effiecient guns they have now, you can shoot almost a case out of a 88, but it is also not to big that you can't play front/mid with it.

I'm looking at adjustable ones right now... 68-90ci with output from roughly the 200psi to around 900psi. My local shop says that fixed output is better then variable output. Is this true? My Omen is comes with a vertical reg anyway, so it's effectively double regged. I just want the tank to be compatible with any future markers I get.
