I painted this Mag body myself. :) I think it looks great. this was the first one I've painted like this and I think it turned out really nice. I would like to know your thoughts on this body and I would also like to hear what colors the rail, barrel, and frame should be.

I used automotive touch up paint. Now I have to put a clear coat on it so it doesn't get sratched.

It looks good, but I wonder about durability (sounds like you do, too).

Have you considered a bake-on teflon/moly resin coat? It is fairly expensive at $21 (shipping included) per 6oz and the colors are limited to earthy tones, but it is quite tough. I have some on the way to try out on a rather battered standard feed body. Here's a link:

I dont care for it myself. It looks rough IMHO. It will stand out though if that was what you wanted.

Not to bad. I like when folks customize things themselves. Its shows initative and creativity. I think you should try for a blue barrel the same color as your flame job so it flows back to your body. Then maybe flames on the front edge of your grip and maybe on the front of your hopper so the whole thing would match. It would definately get noticed. It would wind up looking like the front end of a hot rod car.

Thanks, I know it looks a little rough but this was the first one I painted so I expected that. And I know the paint isn't very durable but I just now put a clear coat of teflon or something like that on it. I'm gonna do more but this was the first. Does anyone have any design ideas for the next one?

Jays folly has it going but try to put waves of flame on the barrel so it looks like it is growing.
