Well its coming up and I need to start getting an idea of how many people may come stop by for some burgers. During Shatnerball 1 we had about 20-25 people, which wasn't too bad. I could see having about the same amount, maximum of about 35. I don't have that much room, or chairs for many more than that. I know of a few of you that will be there definatley, but would like to get a rough headcount to get an idea of the sized of the mob that will be coming.

My addy is:
7008 Floyd Court
Plainfield, IL 60544
815-483-6355

The menu will be simple:
Burgers
chips
burgers
Beer
Burgers
beer
Diet Pepsi (for TK)

Finally, I have heard biased decision on this one. Should I get keg for this BBQ? I know some of you guy liked the walk in beer fridge at the grocery store but it would be easier.

So let me know and sorry for the long post. Anyone can e-mail me daugustyn@sbcglobal.net or catch me when I am on AIM at Gambit1106

My mouth is watering already! I still like the idea of bring what you want to drink. Keg is cool, but then you are stuck with one beer that maybe not everyone likes.

Shdow, Pajammaman and I should be there, just need some directions.

I know you can put me and Data down for it
I'd say that a keg might be a bit much, sense the majority aren't serious drinkers. Having us bring our own is a way to cut some of cost for you as well.

I was thinking a pony keg but BYOB probably will be best.

I was probably planning on the night before and if anyone is in town anytime that week let me know, you are more than welcome over for a beer or soda. Also depending on what day I can make some arrangements to be an airport shuttle if needed

He said the night before, so I assume Saturday.

Gambit1106

Saturday night would be the ideal night, I have to play Mr.Mom on Friday night while the wife is at work. Anyone is more than welcome over to relax have a drink and talk but it will not be anything major. Unless I can find a baby sitter it looks like Saturday night.

It would be best to car poll as much as possible to Gambit's house. It's a nice big house, but dunno if we can fit 20 cars in the driveway:)

Gambit...just making sure, you do remember the ingrediants in those burgers right?:)

Gambit and I were discussing that the other day... if his party starts between 6-6:30, we will probably get drinking around 4:30. We'll have to "get in the zone" to recreate such a feast!

I am about 20 minutes (or close depending on how fast you can drive). Also look and see if one of the AOer's can give you a ride. There will probably be quite a few of us there on Saturday anyway.

To all that came to the BBQ thanks for stopping by. I hope you had enough to eat, except doobie, trina and friends, who showed up late and we were out of food. If it isn't in Chicao next year and the way Pacman made it sound it won't. I will try to make it and bring a grill with me. Hope everyone had fun.

Gambit, thanks for the hospitality. It was a great time, good to sit and relax with AO members. However, I was unaware of the donation pot, in the kitchen, and now feel like an ***. Sorry.
the burgers were awesome...and, we got to introduce several new members to our favorite website that night!!! ;)

09-07-2004, 09:10 AM
Thanks man, it was great! The burgers were great, the people were cool and I even got to meet a few new faces (which is getting hard to do these days). Thanks for the meds, I was feeling 100% better by the time I got to the hotel...Damn cat!

I think we just need to have an AO-Chicago day just so we can get some more burgers if Shatnerball does not happen in Chicago next year.

Oh yes...and what a wonderful website that was....

Thanks so much Gambit!! We all had an awesome time!!!

I do wish we didn't show up so late though. I'm not so sure what happened to the guys following us (Nick1 and Nick2)...they somehow thought our pewter sedan turned into a yellow truck and followed the wrong vehicle. My interpretation of that is that the yellow truck must have been full of girls....LOL!!!

Anywho, we were glad we made it there and at least got some of the yummy food you made for us. :D

Trina: did you go to Steak n Shake Sunday after the game?

Gambit1106

Glad everyone had a good time, next year the way it sounds its not going to be in Chicago, so as long as I can make it and get access to a BBQ we can repeat it even if its in the hotel parking lot.

Kevin how is the ankle?

Muzikman- We will have to plan an AO-Chi-town day, we will have to see if we can get AGD involved, mabey a factory tour again too.

I should just start making my burgers, freezing them and shipping them across the US to AO. (Hmmmm new dealer post ;) )

You know I have to wonder how healthy Shatnerball is for me, bodily and financially. Last year I blew up my van,(and what a good job I did of it) and this year I blew an ankle, (class 2 sprain, ligament and muscle damage but no dislocations).
You have to wonder what next year may have in store.
