how can you tell if a scratch in your n2 tank is to deep?

look really close....
if there are significant damage to the fiber, good chance its dead
and getting to the fiber with a scratch is really deep

the outer clear layer is just resin which you can patch up

Just take it to some hydro-testers and have them look at it/test it.
