Greetings all

Here are a few pics and a short movie of some of the "one on one" matches from Bunkerfest II this afternoon being held at the Krossfire field down in San Antonio this Friday thru Monday. Today, Friday, was one on one only. Tomorrow is 3 man and Sunday and Monday are 5 man. I won't be out there Saturday but I will be there Sunday afternoon, but I'll need someone to host any more images or videos since Road Runner only gives me 5 megs of space and this post uses it all.

For the one on one matches, they wanted to make sure everyone was on an even keel to begin with so they had all the players use Mac Dev Cyborgs with Hammerhead barrels that the tournament folks provided. Each player used their own hopper. Some of those guys could really make those things rip. In the first pic one of the players posed with a cyborg for me so you could get a closer look at them. Enjoy! :D

So how do they like the Hammerhead barrels? Are they another Armson or are they actually worth the money?

BTW I think it'd be awesome if there was a skycam type deal to get a more elevated view of the action.

I didn't hear any complaints about the barrels but I don't think anyone had used them before today. When the organizers were telling all the players they were going to use cyborgs with hammerhead barrels he refered to them as "one of the best guns with the best barrels out there", so I guess they have a pretty high opinion of them. I never heard anyone walking off the field complaining about this lousy barrel couldn't hit the broad side of a barn or anything like that. The only complaint I heard was with the small tank (45/4500) and the drop setup making a much shorter marker than they were used to.

They did have a big scissor lift that they probably used to hang the netting. I should have asked if I could have used that to get a higher view of the action. I just thought it was cool of the refs to let me put on a mask and step inside of the netting to take pictures.

Those Cyborgs also have Paintball Kingdom's clamping feednecks on them.

I don't think those are drop forward. They look like a dovetail mounted rail system.

Hello all

Here are some pictures from Bunkerfest II on Sunday. Today was the 5 man tournament. I'll be posting some video of the action as soon as I get it moved over to my system.

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00001sunday.jpg
This first pic is Curtis (Havoc_online) educating some poor lost soul about the mortal sin of not having a level 10 bolt on his classic mag.

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00002sunday.jpg
This is Clare, whom everyone probably already knows anyway. I got to meet both Clare and Curtis today and they both are real nice folks. Curtis even agreed to sell me his supermag for...um.....$10. Um...yeah that's it.....$10! What a great guy!

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00005sunday.jpg
This is the WGP setup. I had no idea they grew their guns out of 55 gallon drums. I wonder how you can tell when they're ripe enough to pick?

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00006sunday.jpg
The CP sales tents. Very nice also.

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00007sunday.jpg
Evil paint and such. Apparently some kind of world domination thing going on there.

http://home.comcast.net/~whatwewant/DSC00008sunday.jpg
This was part of the staging area. I think this tent ran on for about 3 or 4 miles, but that may have just been the heat affecting my vision.

That's all for now. I'll post some video in a bit.

Ok here are the first few videos.

This one is the LED readout on Curtis's Supermag when he first turns it on.

These are some of the 5 man tourny stuff. Dialup users beware, I bumped up the quailty of the video so the size went up with it. These are 9 or 10 megs each.

Bunkerfest II 5 man Part 2 (http://home.comcast.net/~jaysfolly/BunkerfestII7_better.WMV)

That's all for tonight. I've got some more I'll post tomorrow....er....I mean today actually. Geez, is that really the time?

Great videos.

Is that an ICD Freestyle in the first video?

This should be the end of it. I've gone through all the video I shot and just grabbed a few games that were pretty fast and a few quick shots during some of the games. The rest of it are just games that bogged down and aren't that interesting to watch. I hope everyone has enjoyed watching them. I have to say I've learned more about video compression than I ever really wanted to know. If anyone is looking for a good free compression program, the windows media encoder 9 does a pretty good job. It packed down a really good quality 25 meg avi file to a good quality 8 meg wmv file. Not to bad.

In bunkerfest 5 man part II do you know if the guy in the yello jt hat and blue empire jerseys were team wicked?

Sorry evan I sure don't. I think there were like 87 five man teams out there. 99% of the time I had no idea who was even playing while I was filming. I would just find a good spot on the field and film 3 different games or so and then move on to another field. I don't know how those guys were even able to play it was so hot. On Sunday the temp hovered around 98 degrees. Thank goodness the humidity was only 97% I heard Monday we cracked 103 degrees. Why do I live in south Texas again?

Jay your vids are great and your pics are very professional. Why dont you make a dvd with your footage. Just an idea.

thanks gc82000. I really appreciate that. I've got a buddy in Austin that has a video toaster and all the goodies that go with it. He does weddings and stuff like that. I might run that by him and see if he wants to colaborate with me since he's much better at this than I am. :)

Why do i live in north texas again? Anyway, temps are pretty close together except this past week where it has been 85-90.

hey what do you shoot?
just wondering i think we might be going to a tourny toward the end of this month.not to sure on plans as of yet.

Jay's_Folly

What do I shoot? Why I shoot the bad guys of course!

Just kidding. I have an original mag from '92 that I've been upgrading. X-valve, Level 10 bolt, ULE body, ULT, Empire barrel kit. I'm still using the original single trigger but I've got a blade intelliframe on the way from TheMagMan up in NY.

I'm pretty sure I won't have much free time this month though. I'll be moving up from San Antonio to Austin and starting out a new job. Our company was just bought out and I'll be helping with the conversion and the new setup so I'm sure I'll be swamped. Anyway here's what it looks like now:
