I ran a pure energy preset for a while it was fine. The trigger was a little hard to dial in with the preset though, but it was fine.

Pretty much any preset tank will work with the RT valve. As long as you are staying within the bounds of you actually pulling the trigger (say 16 bps or less) then you should not have to much trouble.

The Max-Flo is a quality reg but a nice high flow adjustable tank is really icing on the cake as opposed to a necessity.

I have the maxflo, and it is great. The adjustability makes it a lot easier to fine tune your mag, as the input pressure affects the trigger. Haven't had any problems with it, but then again I've only shot about 11bps max on my retro valve. Also, the maxflo is very nice becuase of the mounting. The dovetail mount allows you to put it right up next to your frame, like I have it set up. Very compact.

^^^ same here...i had a corssfire on my RT Pro (2 years ago)...and i just recently got rid of an x-valved custom e-mag that i ran with a max flow...

...and now i run the maxflow with my alias...i love how its absolutly AMAZING at keeping the constant pressure...and i can go from 0 -1000+ psi with the easy to switch spring kits...I also lkike how the gauges are easy to read (un like the AGD flatline...but i would of bought a flatline...but i had to wait till they didnt make them any more  )

yep the maxflow is amazing. I ran the LP spring on my Spyder, and will use it on the Shocker I am in the process of getting, and while Smart Parts says the systems aren't interchangeable, they are. You can get a used Maxflo on these boards for $230 shipped easy; and if it's LP, the HP spring is only $10 direct from SP.

$230? You might want to just keep a lookout on ebay for a nice maxflo because um...maybe you might see something wrong with these...but those 4 links are maxflos that went off on ebay all for under $100 each.

You might want to look into air america tanks. I got a 88/4500 stuby for 130 shipped. Its quite heavy, but its very consistant and could take a bullet for me and not get hurt :)

I've got a Centerflag Dynaflow that keeps up just fine. I used to have a max flo and this gives comparable performance and flow without the bulkiness of the max flo (I know the new style ones aren't as bulky).

I'm with jesseyo13; I'm running an AA Apoc on my X-valve ULE, and even if I sweetspot at 20, it won't shoot down - plus, I can go from 200 to 1100 psi with the turn of an allen wrench. Spring swap not required.
I'm happy with AA.

The AA might be heavier than hell, but that thing is going to live longer than I will. They also dont go for too much these days anyway. You can get them new for about 180 I think or get a really nice used one for 110-130 in great condition. The regs are 100% stailess steal, so they dont get scratched unless you really abuse them.

air america armageddon is a good adjustable air system, lifetime warranty, performs the same if not better than a maxflo.

Almost any preset 4500 psi tank will work fine with a mag. Pure energy, crossfire and centerflag all have great regulators that can keep up with the rt style valves, and can be found for under 200$. stay with the 4500psi tanks & buy a good tank it will last and if you change guns you can keep the same tank...saves money in the long run.
