No you should be fine. Most people cut theirs.

It works fine. I did it to my evo so it would fit lower on my ULE body.

make sure you do leave enough so that it fits into the feedneck...but you don't need to leave anymore than it takes to fit in snugly

nice thing is if you mess it up, you can always buy new tray/neck pieces.

i have about 13/16ths coming out of the egg, measuring from the lip on the raceway.

With it, my Z-board still works fine. The eye is well up into the outer shells, they are on the same plane as the board is (all one piece).

If I remember right, someone said it decreases the speed or something, but I dont think you can shoot 5 shots before the egg reacts. (it's bs)

My problem with the Evo was those first 5 balls would not feed at 17 a second. They are not being forced down so all they have is gravity working on them which is 13 a second I belive.
When I would get on my angel from a dead stop I would get chops. I had to go slow and then work my speed up.
I tested my hopper and with the barreries I had in it I was getting 15 a second. Not good since I have peaked my angel at 17.

I used a PVC pipe cutter, like this: http://media.doitbest.com/products/379999.gif

You could also get a nice, even cut with a normal clamp-on pipe cutter, such as: http://media.doitbest.com/products/354707.gif

If you dont have that, I'd assume you could do alright with a coping saw or a hacksaw, but make sure you dont snap/crack the rest of the neck. Also deburr the inside so there is no place to catch when attempting to feed, either with a utility blade or a round file.
