Well since I have some down time, because I'm waiting for a new end mill to come in....hopefully it will be here next week :(
I decided to play some more with some designs, depending on how much they are liked and people willing to purchase them, I will cut a wax and mold. I hope when they are cut they look as good as the pics, and to think 2 weeks ago I made a plain grip! Everyday I learn something new!
All designs will have my name on them, I just forgot to put it on some pairs.

the standing lion looks good on one fo the frames..but as good on the other grip. The grip taht goes on the LED side of the emag is the better of the two.
otherwise...nice work!

the snap shot I took makes the grip and the lion looked smooshed,
The neat thing now is you can pick and choose the panels that you like :D

That's incredible Heather, well done as always!:D:D:D
Quick question: The detail you put into the lion, will that actually transfer through to the mill and keep that good quality after you made the mold? If so, that's awesome, and I look forward to seeing more of them.

Thanks!
Umm I don't know yet. I know the flames and the lighting bolts will because they were vector bitmap images the same as the base of the grips.
I made the lion and the joker face with Raydream Studio that I bought maybe 4 years ago...I can't remember. But it was back in the day before I made grips and I wanted to get into 3d animation.
So I just wanted to see if using that software would translate into carving???
The lion and the face are made with many, many polygons, and the Modela software read the dxf format, but when I asked for a preprint version, it had too much memory and didn't translate well virtually.
However it doesn't mean it can't be cut. Because when I asked for a cutting path it did give me one.
So I guess we will see, I'm just experimenting in what I can and can't do I guess.

Can the grips be made with two layers of resin, where the flames could be one color and the background another color. Or would the resins intermix where they met?

i don't have a e-mag but just a addition to the lion if you could do the AGD logo on some?

The flames if I make them raised enough can be a different color than the grip, or if I print a flame graphic to match directly where the embossed flames are, the flames can have a two toned color effect.
I will probably put AGD on the left panels so it doesn't look that plain with the lion.
Thanks Tom, your compliments are greatly appreciated!!! here's a pic of what I have done so far on your grips. I am really glad that we invested in this machine. The clarity of the grips is unbelievable. Sorry about the picture quality. I just received a new 5.2 digi cam and I'm still trying to figure out how to take better pictures.

Hot girlie grips yes I will have some of those too in due time.
I'll post what one of the grips look like when I can. I'm hoping they will turn out pretty well, although they are made with many polygons and the mesh is not that uniform, I may need to smooth out the rough stuff by hand.

is it just me or does this one sorta look like a naked girl? Looks like she is sitting down and the pic is taken from behind so you see her back side.
look at the two low points of the flame in the center part of the grip, sorta looks like a butta
is there any way to make these wrap arounds?

Ummm I guess, maybe it was subconsciously made to be a subliminal message! ;)
No not making any wrap just panels, I can make them quicker.
Bunker17 none of these are made yet, still waiting for a tool, I have spoke with Roland Machinery, they shoud be sending it out today.....hopefully.
I'll post when they are made, thanks for the enthusiasm!

Here's another
I made a woman beneath the flame, she is turned to the side.
I swear this is what I was born to do, I love creating things!

All very nice looking. :) Only complaint is that the standing lion looks like it's kinda missing a leg. I'm assuming these are going to be etched into the surface of the grip, like all bumpy and with relief structures. If that's the case, I'd suggest adding a second hind leg behind the front-most one/belly, and maybe etching it into the grip (like negative space. Assuming again that the positive space of the lion would be comming outward. Maybe make the second leg going inward into the surface of the grip?)
Just a crit. Take twice daily with grain of salt. :D

I noticed that myself, it is really behind the other one, I'll just have to adjust it, if I make them.
