Tippmanns rock.

I wonder what is in store for our industry since so many of the more prominant companies are selling out to other companies outside the industry...

BE, WGP, now Tippmann

I wouldn't be too worried. Non-paintball companies buying into paintball is probably a good thing. They have recognized paintball as a good investment, and are not likely to do anything drastically different from what has worked so far.

Maybe someone at Tippmann realized all thoose rentals they sold in the last 10 years will never need to be replaced so they expect sales to go down... LOL

But Hey ... Tippmann's help make our sport what it is today ... everyone deserves to get a little cash for their years of hard work and look at retiring or stepping back .... just as long as Tom doesn't go getting any ideas on us ...

It's just a venture capital firm. Probably another group of rish schmucks who found out how fast paintball was growing and wanted a cut of the action.

Rich is an understatement. They own Installshield and McAfee. I think they are trying to get VeriSign too.

What? You mean like big tractors planting seeds?

I know, you meant sewing. ;)

Or, maybe Tippmann is going to do another run of table top .22 cal. gatling guns. :argh:

If they made .22 cal. gatling guns, i would buy one. Possibly two.

Yea,
that was my guess, http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/103/103711.html heaven forbid we get some real buisness talent in the paintball industry. Hell we may actaully have a sport in the next few years rather than a hobby...

you knew it was gunna happen. comapnies are bought out all the time. for once, paintball is becoming profitable, and real companies want a piece of the money

Well, maybe not gatling guns, but prior to becoming Tippman Pneumatics, they built .22LR working models of M2 Browning machineguns and the 1919 machinegun. Prior to 1986, they could be made automatic, now they are semi-only and cheap at $4500.

Full size .50bmg ammo nearest the model.

I suspect and hope that this will give Tippman the money and backing to get better and better.
