ULT Milling for RT

I have access to both a milling machine and a machinist. I would like to have him mill out my RT valve. Is there anything special we should know? Is the opening the same as maybe a classic, a flat bottomed cylinder? Can I assume that the cylinder is the same width and depth as the current stepped cylinder?
