JJ Edge kit. Cleans well in 4 shots. Love my friends.

HAven't used either of the kits you mentioned, but I prefer solid backs as opposed to inserts. I own a J&J Edge Kit, I just love it, not to mention, they have worked with AGD for years on different barrels, so why not support the friends of AGD? ;)

The J&J Edge kits are one of the best. They are also the best deal. Check them out here (http://paintball-discounters.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1117&p_catid=70&sid=AAP2pZ0-T9@C7YZ-30104465691.d0).

Good luck,

I was'nt a big fan of insert kits either, but I picked up a Sceptre kit to give it a shot and love it. The inserts are really sturdy and lock in place when the barrel is screwed together. I loved my Edge kit too but I prefer the sceptre a bit more.

I currently have the edge kit for my imp and I love it, can you buy just a few backs say cocker threaded? I have gone to J&J site no help there and have checked some online stores but they only sell the kit, one piece barells or a 2 piece set.

Here's the site for the sceptre kits. http://www.powerlyte.com/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=7&PT_MasterCategory=y
I got mine from Tunaman. I'd hit him up first.

shameless plug: But I sell sanchez machine barrel kits and these are by far the best on the market. I use them myself. Check out my thread in the Dealers Forum. Also, this kit is relatively cheaper than the other kits you are mentioning with superior quality. These are the same guys who make the Kaner kits for WGP and all the other WGP barrels.

Hammerheads site: www.hammerheadpaintball.com

The kit is pricey but worth it. If your not planning on spending the amount they cost then I would suggest the J&J edge kit as my second choice.

I talked to hammerhead at a recent scenario and they were talking about a price break sometime this summer. Just something to keep in mind. Also if you get a chance to meet them at an event. Ask if you can test one of the barrels. All you have to do is leave an id for them and they will let you use a barrel.

Sanchez or Kaner. Rifling does nothing. And for christ sake compare the cost.

i shoot the evil kit. i love it except the front is extremely thin and scratches very easily. i already am looking to get a new front

haha yeah, didn't AGD do extensive testing and found that rifling offered no added benefit anyway. btw he's talking about the Hammerhead barrel system. Now, in terms of barrel types. it doesn't really matter any kit you get. All the kits are generally the same, they're all top of the line barrels, and all do their jobs extremely well. w/ a barrel system, the majority of your accuracy will depend on how consistent your valve is. Again, by anything. even Smart Parts

Do what I did. Go down to a shop that has a range and ask to try them out side by side. After a Hammerhead, Empire, Freak, Phat, Ultralight, Evil Pipe and Stiffi, I ended up with a Kaner.

I own an Empire 7 piece kit and I've shot a Scepter, Freak and an Ultralight. To me they all shot the same. I prefer non insert kits though(for durability reasons) and I got a good deal on the Empire so I got it.

After testing Freak, J&J, Kaner, Sceptre, Evil, Empire, Hammerhead. I Picked the Hammerhead. Hands down the best barrel I ever shot in 18 years. Even if the rifiling does "nothing" according to some. Its the best barrel I have ever put on my autococker.
