I just got my gun from AGD. I got the Custom RT Pro ULE. On the internet I have seen that the ULE customs have X Valves but my gun has an RT Pro X valve... are there any differences between the two? I have pictures...

It is an X-Valve, just has the RT pro engraved on it.

That's odd...

How can you prove that?

Haven't been around long I see. The RT PRO X X-valves are a bit over a year old. Came out with the Emax and X-Mag x-valves. They are the same valve minus the laser engraving and serial prefix.

The difference between the older RT valve and the new X valve is that the back portion on the x valves are aluminum and not stainless steel (thereby lighter in weight). Also, the important difference is that the x valves come from the factory with the Level 10 (antichop) bolt installed. Confirm for yourself that you have level 10.

From your photo it looks like you have a "X" valve (it's black and you can see the "X" on it), but it has "RT Pro" engraved over it.

What is odd is that you have the older style RT foregrip which I had understood was discontinued some time ago.

In terms of functionality you should be fine. It just looks like AGD is using whatever parts it has left over in stock.

only difference between your valve and any other x-valve is the laser engraving

right now since they aren't selling, i think AGD is throwing a ULE body on the RT Pro's they have left in stock and calling it a ULE-RT Custom - don't worry, they're basically the same thing

I really want to make sure my valve is aluminum and not SS (how much lighter is the aluminum valve?). It does have the level 10.

...simple answer...

black= light wieght
grey/silver= heavy

...the ONLY difference between a normal rt valve and an x-valve is wieght NOTHINGE ELSE!!!

...hanging with the techs here teach me a lot...

It's all black. It's an Xvalve. (The X on the valve is the REAL sign.)

The Xvalve is 3oz lighter than the ReTro valve.

Thanks a ton guys! You're all a ton of help.... now how do I get the fore grip off... those little screws are really on there tight (they bent/twisted my allen wrench).

It's true, the valve did come out the same time as the all aluminum xvalve, and emax valve. The foregrip is old stock, more than likely this particular RTP was sitting on the shelf waiting for purchase. IIRC Strider won the VERY FIRST XRTP at Skyball 2003 by winning the largest banner contest.

Moose - I think you are just going to have to find another wrench and try again. The same thing happened w/ mine, I think they might be loctited in. Also you might want to wear some gloves...when mine finally came loose my hand slipped and I torn a bit of my nail off :(

That is one nice set up. I like the look of the old fore grip much better. I also like the look of that valve VS the normal X-valve. very nice

I don't think they are loc-tited in. Just really torqued on. Mine were a little difficult to take off, be careful so you don't strip the heads.

I had to buy a new allen wrench.... yeah, I got 4 of the 6 off.... the other two are stuck/stripped.... grrr. Can I cut the screws?

...You could but it wouldn't help...brcause how would you get the threads out?...

...my old rt pro had screws that were easy to take out...im 99.95326743% (took me a while to calculate and round to the nearest 100th millionth) sure that they didn't lock-tite the screws in...

My RTP has exactly the same engraving on the valve. Mine was given to a friend of mine at "Risk It All" scenario by TK himself.

Good ol' TK gave mine to me too! Well, more or less. Tom told the guys to make it and they did... Right there in frot of my eyes.
