AGD:

do you know whether you will do a tech class held all day again (as usual) or whether you will be a part of the tech classes TEE is hosting during the week?

I'm trying to plan my vacation and am just wondering when you guys will be teaching, because I'll have to be there.

I was wondering the same thing. I have to know when to drive up to Pennsylvania.

yeesh the concept of no tech class disturbs me greatly. Especially with emerging frame tech on the horizon.

Yeah, but is the Horizon that close? the tech classes were a selling tool for AGD. Tom taught a small group of people the basic theory and then taught them the operation of the new product. That way there was a group of 50 or so people floating around the US that understood how it worked and would show it to people.

hmmmmm how old must you be to attend a tech class??

Dayspring
06-21-2004, 01:16 PM
Just gotta be able to pay the fee for the class.

But since there isn't one this year, it's a moot point.

ok i got off the phone with Jon at AGD and he says you have to be invited

Dayspring
06-21-2004, 01:41 PM
Wrong kind of tech class. He probably thought you were talking about the "Super Tech" classes. Those are Invite Only.

The IAO one is different.

AGDlover
06-21-2004, 05:02 PM

lord1234
06-21-2004, 05:04 PM

Just doin' "The Oring Talk" will be enough to fry most people's brains. :)

Tom will ask you a question. You will answer it (thinking you're correct) and he'll look at you going "Are you sure?"

At that point, you question every decision you've made since childhood... :tard:

Depending on what day o the week its on during IAO, I will most definately want to attend, Wednesday perhaps?

Or I could just use a certain Hotel Placemat from last years IAO to give others the Oring Talk... Muuhuuhahaha (yes TK, i still have it, gots to get it bronzed or frozen in carbonite to uphold its integrity).

Remember- the 7 man competition was moved to the BEGINNING of the week, so Wed might kill the # of people able to attend.

I'm there (schedule permitting).

personally...i would want to know what the tech class would be about? while the opportunity to hang with tom would be AWESOME, what would you be teaching? woudl we be learning about the hair trigger? or maybe have miscue teach a section about board programming?

I would love a tech class again this year, last year was a blast! Maybe a 2 part at-night thing after games end for the day? That would be ideal for people like me who changed their hotel reservations when they heard that there wasn't going to be a tech class this year ;) That way attendees won't have to tack an extra day onto their time at IAO, won't need to miss any of the events at the field, and can still make it to the class.. Either way, I'm 99% there no matter what!

I'm there, Tuesday would be best, but Wedsday would work too, just might have to skip out early.

As for topics covered. I honestly think fundamentals is needed. I don't think it should be about any one product.

AGD

AGD tech class was actually one of the main reasons I'm planning on going to IAO this year. :) If you do plan on having one... I sure hope it is at the earliest Wednesday morning, because that's how I have my schedule rearranged atm.

Regardless... I can't wait for the IAO. :D

Edit:
Also Tom, what are AGD's plans for the IAO scenario game? Anything special?

I would go should it occur. I can't stay for the weekend for it conflicts this year with the Monster Game.
