hey, while looking through some magazines in my local proshop i saw the tippman hellhound minugun in an old magazine, it said it couldshoot up to 40+ bps or somethin like that, anyone have any idea how it would work, all they said was 2 cyclone feeds fed it.

wow thats rediculously helpful.
thanks (not being sarcastic)

from that pic i can see that the drill is the trigger, it also powers the cyclone feeds, but thats it the rest is behind the metal shroud

It does NOT work from what I know. The barrel rotate and there is one int he middle that shoots at about 10 bps....you can ever hear it in there video...thats only 10 bps....

The Grinder is the closest thing to a fully funtional minigun

Grinder = Gatling(sp)Gun
Gatling Gun + Electric Motor = Minigun
Gringer + Electric Motor = Paintball Minigun

Problem Solved

You'll have to talk like a Dutch Uncle to get Palmers to build another though, so it looks like we're out of luck as of now

Some of us have been batting around with the idea of building a minigun... nothing solid has come from it yet tho.

I have the Gatling gun experience... just lack the machining and 3d design experience the others ive talked to have.

well even if the vid is just one barrel firing and the rest moving, cant really tell, the pics clearly show a feed system much like an a-5 on the tippman cannon, so i know how it feeds i just dont know how it fires, would it chamber a ball into the barrel then have a bolt come in and fire it, cant think of anything else but i dont think that would work. could it be basically 10 rotating blowbacks with balls being chambered by 2 cyclone feeds, that seems more logical.

I think it would be possible with a Spyder hammer/bolt set-up just shorter, having air and the valve spring/ect... on each barrel. Just an idea

yeah, i think its basically 10 rotating 98s fed with paint by 2 cyclone feeds, all powered by the drill's rotation

The Hell hound's minigun, I believe, is ten or whatever Pro-Carbine barrels spinning on that chain-system. The feeders are two Cyclone prototypes, made from modified Starfeeds or something. I've heard it fires about 50bps, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I do know that when they tested it on a dummy it ripped the jersey right off it.

see how id go about it is i owuld jus get a pair of high end guns dropp them into a box or covering and have a high torque servo or electric motor hit the trigers and voila with any high end gun you have a double barrel machin gun shooting 50 a second and draining your wallets in no time
