I don't know when this happened but I have paint inbetween the 2 lenses on my flex 7. Its all the way in the corner and it started to run down the lens, spreading a bit.

Can you physically take apart the lenses without ruining them? I don't know how I'm going to get this paint out, and it's still wet.

Sorry dude, they're toast. Get new thermals.

The fact that there's paint in there means the seal's already been broken. And once the seal's gone, even if you try to fix it it won't work anywhere near as well as they did before.

Once anything gets in there, just throw them out. Once that seal breaks, moisture gets in and you'll get fog on the inside of the thermal lens.

guess I'll use em til they fog

That should be about 10 minutes ;).

New lenses are going for about $20 these days. If you can afford a day at the field, you can afford a new lense to make sure that day doesn't suck.

i had the same thing happen to my lens, paint in between the 2 layers, and they still work perfect, only fog up when its 90* and im sweating like crazy at the end of the day. and thats in the woods. when im playing some speedball they never fog.

Only thing you can do, is replace the lens.

Does anybody know if the replacement lenses are made crapier. I bougth a jt spectra a long time ago and the lens it came with lasted a long time. Ever since I replaced it, I have to buy a new lens every couple of months cuz the same thing happens. I either get water or paint between the lenses and then I can see for :cuss: .

If you clean them out right and apply some light glue on the foam seperating the two pieces make sure they're COMPLETELY dry.

There should be a pocket of air stored inside there, that's all there has to be.

My Proto-lens got some paint in them, I ripped off the thermal part, cleaned them out, applied some clue, sealed it and it DOES NOT fog. :D

Which is why I'm buying a profiler thursday... :D

nope... nothing you can really do... thats why im picking up a new mask soon

then JT still made the lenses they kicked ***, the seal never broke, they NEVER fogged, and all that good stuff ;)

but the lenses that BE makes now just suck - the seal sucks, they fog up, they scratch easier, it sucks :cuss:

i can tell you that i LOVE my flex and would prefer to wear nothing else, but im forced to get a new one unless i want to bust $20 every other week for a new lens... that i'll just have to go replace in 2 more weeks

what would you choose? invision or profiler?

you can just pull the inner lense off and have a single lense, that's what i did and mine never fogs
