Whats the cap on the bps of a ULT? I have read that you cannot put it in an emag because does not return fast enough....so how fast can it return?

There is more force required to return the on/off and emag sear/solenoid plunger than in a regular mag. The smaller on/off top does not allow the required force to facilitate a timely operation in the emag. In the retro mag it is not a problem due to the lighter sear assembly with no solenoid plunger. In the AIR valve it is barely adequate due to the lower input pressure.

So, the cap is different for each valve/gun it is used in.

with a bit of modification, and alot of shims, I got it to do 13 bps in a home-made e-mag.

unmodified, and in a classic, you can get 11 bps out of it.

I haven't tested it in an x-valve or RT, but I imagine it could be as much as 16 bps if you have the input psi cranked up enough. but I don't know for sure.

athomas but doesn't the bolt itself reset the sear too? So it's not JUST the on/off pin pushing down on the sear.

The bolt prevents the sear from resetting too soon. It doesn't provide any force to help the return of the sear. The only force pushing the sear back into position is the on/off pin.

15 is the highest I've gotten at the chrono.

i've hit 14 over the crono with my classic ULT

It's too bad those red chrono's aren't accurate for ROF count.

Well the one I used was blue!

It's more accurate than anything else I could use though.

hey were sry if we don't have lab tops we can bring to the field to do it more accurate

I've seen a ULT do 20 at the chrono... Although that was sweetspotted.

the trick being an e-mag solenoid is nice and big... and it half expects that heavy return force of the RT on/off to reset quickly enough. Supposedly, I don't know how true this is, using a spring to help the solenoid reset alleviates the issue. I DON'T KNOW HOW TRUE THIS IS!

Using a spring to help return the solenoid, would increase the pull force, thus defeating the purpose of the ULT.
