Some friends of mine recently got me hooked on the game Diplomacy (http://www.diplomacy-archive.com/home.htm). It's all kinds of fun--think Risk, without dice, and played by a bunch of pathological liars. Unfortunately, the logistics of getting seven people in the same place for a multi-hour board game are challenging, to say the least.
That said, I'm wondering if there are any AOers out there that might want to give the online version a try. No prior experience is necessary; ideally, it'd be all beginners. The game is played mostly be e-mail, with moves coordinated by Dipl-o-matic.com (http://dipl-o-matic.com/). More information about the game is available at that first link. If you're interested in playing, register at Dipl-o-matic, and post here. If you have any other questions about how the game works, just ask.
The rules for Diplomacy can be found here (http://www.diplomacy-archive.com/resources/rulebooks/2000AH4th.pdf).
