gibbys first Tournament

gibby and his team the SoCal Tyrants took third place (in the Rookie division) in the Tropical Illusions 5 man tourney on Sunday at SC Village. They're a rookie team but since the turn out was small (the tournament was listed as a 7 man event in error) they had to play both Novice and Rookie teams. The top three overall winners were all Novice teams.

We had to get up at 5am on a Sunday to be there by 7. I was not a happy camper. But after I had my expresso I was fine. LOL

They did a really good job for their first tourney together. Here are a few pictures I took.

Actually they don't have matching colors, but there are a few of them who are in red.

The Empire duds are actually pretty cool. The team got a really good deal on them...not to mention the hockey style jersies. I haven't seen many teams use those yet. The jersies were also super cool, temp wise. I think they look pretty cool. Granted, empire stuff might be all around but they're really good stuff. As for the matching profilers...you can't deny that they are great goggles. But I've yet to get a pair myself.

Anyway, I had a great time and learned a lot. Looking forward to more tournaments! :)

Let me say, it was a slow start as we faced off most of the novice teams at the start of the day. But after gathering for lunch and discussing how the games went, we came up with a few strats that would help win us a few rounds. All in all, it was a learning experience for all of us. Not to mention a lot of fun!

Yes, I owe my woman a lot for being the dedicated camera person. I think she took some good photos. She got hit a few times while out on the field but never let up!

I'll try and make it on the 8th of August. That is one thing I don't like about Nazi I mean SC village is the smell. It'll stick to your car for weeks and over power ANY air freshner.
