A while back there was a thread about how to make a foregrip for the Mag, well I experimented and here it is.
The secret is the vertical bottle adapter. Get yourself one of these on ebay for $10 and you are in business. I like to carry one anyway just incase I have to switch to CO2 in an emergency.
The thread in this that receives the tank is standard 1/2 inch. There are SO many things that will screw straight into this that the options are limitless.
I took my Automag down to Ace Hardware last night. My favorite forward grip was a chrome shower head, but I think I might get some comments about that on the field ;-)
Options include:
- iron, copper and brass plumbing fixtures
- chrome bathroom fixtures ( including short threaded chrome pipes )
- PVC sprinkler pipes ( including a grey PVC that matches the Automag body well )
In the end I found a molded plastic tube which is round with 4 protruding ridges that they gave me for free. They think it was one section of many in a colapsable handle for a lawn fertilizer trolley that had been returned.
I still think that shower head kicked *** though.
Before cutting this thing to length I decided to fire some paint through it and found that THIS length is GREAT! It feels very natural to hold it nearer the bottom and lever the tank up into my body.. VERY SOLID.
