My sister took her friend Christi flying for her birthday. My friend Mike was the pilot who also happens to be a flight instructor for single engine aircraft. Christi wants to get her piolts liscence and was totally stoked when she found out what we had planed for her. We flew in a Piper Warrior 3 out of Denton Regional Airport. We went up for about an hour just flying around doing manuvers ect.

Cool.
My dad has had his licence for a few years now.. He's going for the instrument cert. now, so we can fly in bad weather.
It's great for travelling, saves times. We own part of a plane so we can go out whenever we want.

Will Wood: IFR is defiantly the way to go. Especialy if you want to do some cross counrty stuff. Much safer.

Don't you mean run from the plane screaming?? :p

Going IFR is a lot easier too from a flight planning/navigation perspective. You don't have to try to figure out if this dinky town over here is Springville or whatever. IFR's less mentally straining than VFR...and you don't have to worry about the weather so much. Plus it's cool to fly through a scattered cloud layer.

ya they ok for trainers. but you get a couple people my size in there, especially here in arizona in the summertime, and you have a little harder time making power to find lift.
