I got this idea off of PBN, thought it could do better over here, but with some pics!
Post up pics of the ugliest guns you ever seen. Or simple just talk about the most hideous model you ever seen! Hopefully everyone can get a good laugh out of this.

I think it has been done in the past as well.

But in my opinion, the ugliest "out of the box" gun had to have been the old shoebox shockers. Anyone can ugly up a nice looking gun, but its real hard to make a shoebox shocker look good.

Only reason it looks odd is because of how far back into/on top of the gun body the barrel goes. Otherwise it's not such a bad looking gun.

So this stays a discussion and not a flame fest, explain your opinion on why you feel the gun is ugly.

To me the old shoebox shockers were just bulky and their lines did not flow. On the old shockers, the grip frame looks just tacked on. I really dont care for guns where the body is too tall. Impulses fall into that catagory, but I have seen some milling on them that lessens its ugliness in my eyes, but I would still not own one.

Just my opinion.

My in-no-way definitive list of ugly guns:
Old Shockers - no explanation needed.
Alien - ditto
most Non-current timmies, (notably excluding 2k2s and GZs)- most just look tacky, especially the ones with big logos milled in the side (like Ironmen) and the FUGLY gripframes
IR3s with the space guard - just the space guard themself, the rest looks decent
ALL Matrixes - the old ones are bricks, not as bad as the old shockers, but still ugly. And DM4s look like space turds. Some custom ones look allright like the tequila and the NYX, the FF though is like a freaking billboard, just tacky as hell.
Impulses - the proportions just seem off to me. Stock they're really ugly, some customs look allright though.

I hate the way the Flatline barrel looks on the Tippmann 98. The stock 98C ain't exactly pretty (and I don't think it's supposed to be), but that Flatline just makes it look wrong somehow.

I'd have to say the ugliest guns would be the Assult 80, Mayhem and the Epic.
The Alien isn't that bad in my opinion, it could be improved with a shroud over the barrel so it doesn't look so different.

ugliest gun......bonedaddy guns, all of'em. they are hideous....for those that dont know (probably a lot) they are spyder clones, but just flat out hideous ones.....

ive seen a really f'ed up cocker before, looked worse than old matrixes, and even more bricklike than shoeboxes...

I have to agree with the people who like the Alien. Different is GOOD! Why do you think I first chose a Mag? They took a different approach that was very simple, yet effective. You put a barrel shroud on that Alien, and it would look similar to half the other guns out there... What's so cool about that? I'm definitely a follower of the "form follows function" mantra. I don't really give a **** how a gun looks, as long its function and design is superior. I personally think most Angels are ugly, but they work so I'd use one. Have you guys seen the JT Tetras? Ugly as all hell, and if they're anything like the old Excellerators, probably don't shoot for crap either. I'll give one more "ugly gun" vote to the New DeSignz Impulse (you can see one in the Action Village ad in APG). All I can say is YUK!!! :spit_take

Heh, the Assault 80 looks like someone slapped a modded 12oz co2 cylinder on top of a grip frame... Not quite repulsive, but certainly not attractive. I actually like it!!! Maybe I've just had a few too many beers... You know what they say: "the girls all get prettier at closing time". Guess that holds true for pretty much anything. Behold the unabashed oddity that is this marker! :hail: :hail: :hail: There's just no accounting for taste...

blasphemy here but I think the emag, rt mag. and any mag with the clunky bicycle grip needs to be considered as the ugliest markers.

cant stand the battery pack on the emags. The bicycle grip and the (not sure what they are called) sight rail and the piece by the foregrip really make them look bad on the rt models. Then you take the bicycle grip and throw it on a nice ULE mainbody and you have the great lines and smooth look of that body ruined (imo!) by what to me looks like a big clunky grip that belongs on some kids BMX and not a marker.

Though as ugliest marker ever Id have to agree its that golden eagle thing :wow:


ps. I own 2, soon to be 3 mags so dont bash me too bad for not liking the style of some of them. :nono:

Oh cr@p! I was racing to the bottom of the thread to post about how freakin ugle a flatline 'cocker is, and someone already beat me to it! But seriously... its butt-friggin-ugly. And that green turd directly north (^^^) of this post is pretty bad too.


I must also be backwards because I like the Alien, Old shockers, and new shockers. Oh well, maybe we can all reach a unanimous decision about the flatline cocker... i think i feel sick from talking about it too much.

It puts a backspin on the ball and makes it fly further and flatter (supposedly). It was designed by Tippmann, and yes... it's butt ugly! The Flatlines made for the 98C and A5 are covered by a shroud so you can't see the curve. By buddy has a Flatline for his A5 and he loves it, but I'm a little more traditional and can't see paying $115 for something that may or may not actually work.

i was at galyans checking out some airsoft stuff for a friend, and i decide for kicks to check out their paintball stuff. first i noticed a cool brass eagle angel speed. but before i could get a pic, they either sold it or something else. also, i saw a JT gun that looks like the dm4. the dm4 i can tolerate for a while, but this thing is nasty everytime i see it. i'll try and find a pic

What type of gun is that below the freestyle? I have been in paintball since around late 95 early 96 and I have never seen that gun, and yeah it is extremely ugly. The gun that I always thought took the cake before seeing that picture, was any vm-68(PMI 3). I thought that those guns were always ugly and it felt like carrying around a cinder block. Even my old mag I had with the old dye ss barrel and 122 ci tank felt like an 03 shocker setup or alias setup compared to those vm 68s.

Regardless of setting the reg, you could have easily put the gauge on the side of the marker. To say you need to look at it, to set it up...is bad. The marker has to be aired up to set it, and even then, you're still pointing the thing at your face.
