I know alot of guys here are automotive nuts so i figure you may be able to help me out.

I own a 1998 For Ranger
3.0 liter V6
Its an automatic

Ive allways wanted a manual.

Is it possible to swap out the Tranny for a manual one?

If so what parts will be nessecary? Any tips or guides anything will help.

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but im not great with cars.

1st question do you have the manual transmission already bought if so...... you still got alot of work to do you will have to get a new cam shaft then you have to go re time your truck and then you got to cut up threw the floor boards and but the shifter in and then the messing with every thing.... BUY a new truck maybe not cheaper but a better idea....

More trouble than its worth. Remeber these things have computers that take info from the transmission. And without that info they will not run. You would have to have the CPU module from a Manual truck and then rewire it all. In addition to some other things. A lot of work now on a late model truck. Not like it used to be.

just tape a shifter to your floor and whenever you hear you tranny ready to shift
just move the stick around and push your left foot forward.

it will be great fun
