im planning on getting an RT ULE Custom soon, but i am kinda low on cash, so i may not be able to purchase a nitro tank, my question is: can it run on Co2? i know its not recommended (b/c of freezing, drop off, etc.) but is it viable until i can get a nitro tank for it? if and when i am able tu buy a nitro tank, id probably have a $100 budget for it, so what tank would you recommend?

Not a chance for it to work on CO2. CO2 is not stable enough for the X-Valve to work. Don't even try, you might ruin the valve.

For your tank, get a PMI or a crossfire tank. Their steel 47ci's are usually around $80. For $120 or so, you can get fiber wrapped 68ci's

You could, but I'm pretty sure it voids the warranty plus you would have to make sure no liquid got into the valve at all, and shoot REALLY slow which makes it pointless to own an RT...

Just pickup a cheap crossfire tank or something.

A lot of people sell HPA tanks once the hydrostatic testing date is either approaching or expired. You might want to look at one of these, then spring for the 25 bucks or so it would take to get it tested. Look on the BST forum here or on PBN, or ebay. If you want new, I'll agree with the Crossfire 47/3000 steel tank. They're really small and you can find them on sale for between $69 and $75. Good luck, and great choice on your gun!

On a 3000 psi, usually a good rule of thumb is 10 X your CI, so about 470.
