Well, if you mean the threads, the CORRECT stuff to use is LocTite 545.

ANYTHING ELSE IS NOT THE CORRECT STUFF.

People will claim to use the Blue loctite, but that is NOT, I repeat, NOT the right stuff.

Look it up on LocTite.com. The correct sealant for high pressure pneumatic systems is Loctite 545.

I use Teflon Tape, may not be as easy to apply, but it does the job... and it fits easily into my tool kit. :D

Teflon tape works great and costs like .88 cents for a big roll

I believe AGD uses a pinkish color teflon tape for the air hose connections/threads.

Teflon Tape will stop leaks, but not "glue" the threads in. i can't think of a leak problem i haven't fixed with teflon tape..its like ducttape in the paintball world ;)

I use yellow teflon tape. Labeled as "gasline" tape, the pink stuff I've seen is for water line... I'm not sure what the white stuff does...

Teflon tape is only rated to 60 PSI. While it may not have caused problems for you, that doesn't make it the right thing to use for a sealant.

If you want to use the cheap solution that could cause problems down the line, buy a roll of teflon tape (Which is rated for around 60 psi)

If you want to use the correct solution, IE, one that won't cause problems, you should get Loctite 545 (Which is rated for 10,000 PSI, I believe).

Telfon tape is a not a high-pressure rated pneumatic sealant, Loctite 545 is.

ok, well seeing as how when i posted this all the places that might actually carry loctite were already closed, i splurged, went to wally-world, and got some teflon tape. For the time being. THanks for the responses guys.

Yes, they do make a high pressure Teflon tape. That is usually what the white tape in the blue spool with the white snap cover is. Any Teflon tape that meets MIL SPEC T-27730A (A-A-58092) can withstand pressures up to 2000PSI. That is a higher pressure than macro/micro lines. So using the proper Teflon tape is safe for most pressures associated with paintball.

I have been using Teflon tape for 9 years now in the paintball world and have never had a problem. It goes on easy and cleans up better than loctite. I also use nothing but steel braided hose. Not that it makes any difference in this discussion.

i thin agd uses reddish pin loctite.......

telfon tape is perfect!! cuz i don't wanna lock the thread together and it doesn't even do that.... i can take apart anything put together with loctite then a lighter and some wrenches.........

I use loctite 592 PST. It's a a paste with teflon that doesn't dry like the Loctite 545. When you take off a fitting that 545 has been applied to, you have to be careful not to get any of the pieces into the air port and line. With teflon tape, if you don't put it on right, or you don't take it off carefully, it will shred and get in your air passages and possibly cause a problem. I can find the 5mL tube of 592 at my local NAPA for $2.50 a tube. Other places to look for these products would be hydraulic line shops, or other heavy industry shops.
