My birthday is coming up and my parents are going to get me a new pack as well as other things. My limit is 50 due to me buying other things and yea. I'm trying to decide between these 3 packs and can;t find any bad points about them. I just need to know what you think is bad about them.

Mantis Pack (http://www.actvil.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=Lf1WuLqsMsxWp_ugrZSWELAKZc7SOCGuQ24=?Pro ductID=y%2eSsFAY7kgAAAAD3enSlA_2y)

Raven (http://www.actvil.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=-0Mj_3xj4LQjkT1veyzjV3bFxXB89-dhldA=?ProductID=f6usFAY7OHIAAAD3K2%2elA_2y)

Proto Pack (http://www.actvil.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=18p-UHQZhV1-8TUVV76--H7Qn_n60O8buVk=?ProductID=pzGsFAY75yUAAAD4nxcoKDc6 )

The only negative point I see is the Raven has a large profile and may get in the way.
Any input and reccomendations would be apprecaited.

Haha, but no. I'm not on a team and I'm not fat.
Also, one other question. I have a 32 waist. What size belt( if I get redz) or what size pack ( if I get the mantis)?

I have a red Mantis pack, same one in your pic i can sell you for cheap. Nice low profile pack, especially if you use only 3 pods. I'm a 34 waist, and i believe the size on the Mantis is considered MED-LRG. I only used it once. Just a suggestion... LMK :D

go for the proto (dye) pack. those have got to be the most comfortable packs that i've tried. since, your parents r paying for it, don't skimp on quality. take whatever's free.

the best pack made, has to be a top stich M pack. Superior quality to any thing else out there. But, they are pricey. What i would reccomend is a NXe pack or possibly the extreme rage. THe nxe is cool, because it baisically launches the pod a 3rd of the way out, as soon as you release the strap. its a nice feature.

I have honestly tried all thouse packs, and I gotta say... Diatribe Paintballs packs totally blow them outta the water...

check out diatribepaintball.com for more info... but basicly, these are TRUE one size fits all packs with angled ajustment straps so it pulls properly to you preventing all pod bounce on your back, highly padded design for comfort and optimal bounce factor, removeable loops, base 4 down design, will hold any pod currently on the market.... only other pack that even comes close to these IMO are the NXe packs....

4 Down for around 50
4+3 for around 60

Prices may vary....

Hey, I got the proto pack and i gotta say, it sucks compared to the ones you listed. No padding, uncomfortable, and just a cheaper version of the dye attack pack (i think thats what its called.) But it gets the job done.

I've owned an M-Pack, it was really sweet. The ONLY downside is the loops are long and stiff, it's hard to remove a pod from there.

Otherwise they ROCK.

I used an NXe today, it was nice but it didn't really live up to what I thought it would. :p

Dye packs aren't worth the money. I have a Ronin pack, it works great! Look at Syn packs and them Naughty Dog ones, Nartech. Those are 2 quality packs right there.

I actually looked for the Nartech pack, but couldnt find any.

I dont play a real position cause I;m not on a team. But if I had to " define" it, I play mid, and sometimes front. So I guess that Raven is out.

t33kyboy- Was the proto really worse than the dye's? I'd think it would be the same exact thing except with a different logo.

what would be the best pack if you want to be able to get pods back into the pack in a game? would the nxe be ok for that?

I would have to say go with an NXe pack, hella comfy and load/unload very smoothly and easily. Quite frankly i have 4 packs of varying type and mfg's, I have no need for yet another, but I am considering getting one after trying Edweird's at IAO. Thanks alot Ed.. ;)

i agree, nxe packs rock. I love mine, very comfortable, very supportive and the pod ejection thing is pretty handy too.

It's not that hard to find a Nartech pack, you just need to know where (http://store.yahoo.com/paintballgate/nartechharness.html) ;)

That's weird. An hour ago I found it myself. But I have a question about it. It seems like the pods can easily just open while playing or can fall out of the pack. Anyone have any input on this?

I've heard nothing but GREAT reviews on these packs, that's why I let you check them out. I never had a chance to actually see one of these in person, but according to the forum people, they are quality packs, Naughty Dogs use them, and they play hard, I never hear of their pods falling off.

i expected the same since proto almost matched the quality of dye's product line, all the same features except a different logo. Well, i was very disapointed when i got my pack, it had no pads or anything. Your better off with the packs that were listed on this site. Im not saying is a bad product, well worth it for the price, gets the job done, but alot of better packs out there...

Most deff NXe its comfortable, well made, and the ejection system is great. If you want to put pods back in during a game that could be a bit hard because they will most likely fall back out while running or moving.

When I am playing I dont put my pods back in my pack. After i am done refilling my hopper I just throw my pods in back of me or to the tape. This allows me to do a refill in less then five seconds. If I had to put my pods back in that could be a long time.
I use an Empire 3+2 pack that just rocks. It has an ejection system, a lot of lumbar padding, and collaspabile loops.
I dont know much of the NXE packs but empire is my reccomendation

I have a redz dimension 4.3 pack... and I love it.

It is snug on your back.

It doesnt bounce.

It holds the pods in.

lets you carry 7 pods.

lets your carry 4 pods.

Makes you shoot 32 bps
