first off, i tried to use the search but none of them answered my questions.

I have a 68 5000 tank i just bought. I have no idea where to look for the hydro date. The guy said it was 6 months old. The only thing i see that might be it is a 1 then there's an arrowhead looking then a 3. Is that it? thanks, all help is greatly appriciated.

there should be a sticker on the tank ...and a set of numbers that resemble something like a date...and a statement saying how many years before you have to hydro it again

Most, if not ALL Luxfer tanks are 5 year.

It looks like you tank was last checked on Jan. 2003. Go to

http://www.testmytank.com/expirationcheck/

to confirm. If it's a three year tank it will have to be hydo'd before Jan. 2006. To see if it's a five year tank, find the DOT-E number, and go to:

http://hazmat.dot.gov/exemptions_index.htm

That will state if it's five years between tests.
