i know stuff like this has been posted in the past, but just keeping up to date:
Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16048&item=3694491771&rd=1)
says its for the picture at the very bottom, i was about to bid on it, but, i like to read the whole discription.

i could be mistaken, but 300 for a poster probably isnt what this guy had in mind (i already notified him)

I beleive a person can still try for fruad against that person. Or at least tell Dye what this person is doing. But  to the fool who bid 305 on a pic.

a lot of people say this until they get scammed and ripped off for their own hard earned money, sometimes no matter how smart you plan something someone can and will screw you eventually. then youll feel like sh*t

Well, he's not scamming anybody. He's just selling a picture, that's all. It's in the print, he never says you get the gun, he states you get the picture. A scam is different, it involves somebody stealing your money. This guy is selling a picture, nothing else. Some moron thinks it is something it is not, that's all. If you saw a "The Mona Lisa PIC!" on ebay selling for $200, you wouldn't buy it would you? Same goes for the gun.

no this is an attempt at a scam. your trying to get someone to buy this by advertising something else. also the title is misleading which by ebay rules is a no no.

It is a scam, but one just the correct side of the Ebays rules to be allowed....doesn't make it right though does it?
How does the saying go about a "a fool and their money....."
I see stuff on Ebay for sale that is totally legit but the items have been bought from £1 shops and have set on a Buy it now @ £3.50 with postage of £1.50 and people are buying the things, just because something is on Ebay doesn't make it cheaper than you can buy in the shops.
I am not saying that you can't buy bargains but it totally depends on what you are buying. I won an auction this last week for a PDA cradle that had been pushed up in price by an american...the item was in the UK so the cost would have been silly to ship it overseas but since when do people look at locations when they search Ebay, fortunately the auction finished at at least 7am for the american so I won it for not too much money...could have been very different. I have an item I am watching right now that is being held by someone in Italy  and the item won't work properly in Italy due to the voltage differences but they have pushed the price up none the less :shooting:

That reeks of EBay policy violation for misleading title. Hopefully it will be gone soon.

This reasoning is idiotic. By your logic, basically anything you can get away with is justified by your victim being stupid.

I agree. Its called "blaming the victim." I guess he thinks that the old folks that get ripped off by con artists should have known better too. And people who leave their mail in the mailbox overnight deserve to have it stolen.

A quick mid-thread poll:

Generally speaking, when you come across auctions like this, do you report them, or just chalk it up to social darwinism and go about your business?

Yay, it's gone:
"The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."
